Autometer Lighting
Autometer Lighting
I recently purchased a 97 3500 ext. cab. The truck already has a set of autometer gauges in it. My other dodge had the Isspros in it, and they were really easy to see at night. My Autometers are a lot harder to read at night though. Is there anything i can do to brighten them up so they can be read a little easier?
yea get some autometer LED's in green or blue and they will be pretty brite. are you autometers black face or white face? either way the LED's will make them brighter, i have 5 autometer gauges in my truck with blue LED's from another company that are so bright i have to turn the dimmer switch down
My Autometer Ultralites (brushed aluminum) were so bright with stock bulbs I had to turn the dimmer down. I have a green bulb cover over them now which tones them down nicely. Funny that your's aren't bright enough?
Pull the gauges and make sure the bulb is set all the way into the gauge. If the bulb is pulled back, you won't get full lighting to the face. You can also check the bulbs to see if they have covers on them, or if the lights are just dim. I've got Autometer Z series and even with the green covers they are more than bright enough at night when wired it with the dash light dimmer.
