Are Any Of You Sick Of Hearing This???

Hey Guys I Have Been Searching These Forums For Many Many Many Days Trying To Figure Out What The Overall Concensus Was About How Low The Fuel Pressure Safely Could Be- Going Into The Vp-44. I Was Hoping Someone Could Tell Me Some Facts And Clear The Air. There Are So Many People Saying So Many Different Things From "if It's A Positive Flow It's Good" To " Nothing Less Than 10psi @ W.o.t. I Know That More Is Definetly Better For Cooling And Not Starving Anything. I Have A Lift Pump That I Think Is Gettin' Low (6psi @ W.o.t.)-probably A Little Low. Thanks Again-nick

Mine does the same 6 at WOT.. 13 at idle 11 under load. 12 nominal. I got 13.5 idle once I changed out the fuel filter. I'm not gonna get concerned till something changes.

As long as your lift pump works, keep driving. You'll set codes and notice things if it's going. The BEST advice is to get a fuel pressure guage. No question there, or at least the Red LED kit to monitor if it goes <5psi. Otherwise, you'll go crazy from all the posts about <5psi, or try to keep your fuel cool, or if chipping the truck will kill the VP. All valid points and experiences but if all you do is read about them, you'll be miserable and expecting trouble and won't be able to ENJOY an otherwise GREAT TRUCK!!!
I bought mine with a bad VP44 so it was an expensive lesson off the bat. My lift pump is strong at 13/11/8 but one thing I DO make sure of is never to run below 1/4 tank. The arguments about heat frying the electronics are sound so I'm not too inclined to chip my truck either. Other than that, maybe run a fuel conditioner once in a while but you should be great to go from there.
JMHO.

I have the low fuel pressure light kit installed on mine. It lights up when the fuel pressure drops below 5 psi. From what I've read, 5 psi seems to be as low as you want to go. Mine was at 2-4 psi ...just got a new LP installed today. They put on the in tank conversion LP. Light out now.
