So do the horsepower and torque numbers on the edge site about the juice/attitude only apply if you tap the pump? what can you expect for an improvement if you dont tap it?

Yes the numbers they list are IF you tap the pump, If you dont tap the pump the power is only as much as the Edge EZ (approx 60hp/120tq)

just tap it

I've been tapped for about two years now, and have about 11,000 miles on 5x5. When I pull my boat I go to 3, and when I pull the boat with the camper I go to 2. With a full load I get 14.5 mpg, and that is going up and down San Marcos Pass, each way!
The key to long injector pump life in my opinion is to use the Vulcan big line kit, which keeps my fuel pressure between 14 and 8. The secret is to not drive the truck like you stole it all the time. Just drive it normally, and juice it when needed.

If I still have this truck after this summer I may tap the pump. I agree with you on not driving it like you stole it. How many miles total do you have on your injector pump? Is it original?

Just an update...the best I've seen so far is probably a 1.5 mpg increase.

They say if you have the HO engine you will not get the gains. I think you may have the HO engine ( 6 speed ) not sure. The 245s are not helping at all. My RPM at 75 mph is 2100 give or take. I have 265s with 3.55 gears. I'm guessing you are at about 2400 rpm at 75. more than likely have 4.10 gears. going to the 265 tires will help a lot. 285s will help even more in most cases.
I would try to get the rpm's at about 1800-2000. JMO.
BTW tap the pump!!!!!!!!! You are your own warranty if you do, but OMG. I have not had a problem with it in 13000mi., tapped since day one.( new pump has been tapped. Old one died before I had the chance too.)

I just went to the 245/75's from 235/85's b/c I got a great deal. My rpms really haven't changed. My truck is not a HO. It's the 235hp. It does have 4.10 gears. I sit at 2000 rpms at 60-62 mph. I really never drive faster than 65. I would like to go to a taller tire some time though.
