AFE filter on stock intake tube?

AFE filter on stock intake tube?
Anyone know what the diameter is on the AFE PG7 filters? I cant afford the whole deal at ~200$ right now with the mounting box so I was thinking of just getting a filter and coming up with something myself. Maybe a 4" PVC coupler and some aluminum sheet.
I have a PS62/12 coming in soon and I will need to lose the BHAF unfortunately.

yep you'll need the coupler....try amsoil dry filter elements. Their part #s begin with "EAAU"...I think. Check their website which post all the sizes and details, I'm sure you can find one to fit your needs. Cost about $70.
