3rd gen steering box
 

I have a 12 to 1 ratio box I bought but have not installed as I am waiting to install my new Allison (lost four dodge trans, all built[verymad]) short on funds.

But I thought every one might like to know about this info I just ran into.

Howard who is developing an Allison transmission kit for our trucks told me that anything done with the stock boxes will eventually fail and that the third gen boxes are much larger. He has a bracket that he sells for around 80.00 bucks that will allow us to install the third gen boxes on our trucks. Here's his number if anyone is interested Howard 1-801-205-8572

From what I am seeing lately, if you drive your truck at all, the third gen boxes are junk.

I have the stock box on my 01, yet the 05 here has gone through 5 boxes in only 100,000 km. Only difference is the 05 doesn't see any off-highway use.
