35's on 2nd gen dually with stock lift
 

Saw this truck today, and it looks like he's running the 35's with no level kit in the front. I emailed him about the setup, and to see if there 35x12.5 for sure, they look like it. And with a 2" spacer in the rear, they don't stick out to much past the rear fender. Hopefully he gets back to me so I can know for sure that 35x12.5's will fit with 2" spacers. I'm gonna do a 2" level kit anyway because it looks alittle better.... Anyway, I finally found pics of a 2nd gen with 35's and no lift, lol.

Id bet they rub at full lock, maybe even whack the plastic wheelhouse liners in a bad pot hole. Id go with 3" lift minimum for something that big, but even that might rub the control arms. Depends on the aspect ratio of the tire

I've been told 255/85r16 is as big as you can go on a 01-02 w/o spacers. Being a fan of the wide steer tire look, I am also interested in the answer to this man's question.

255/85'S is the biggest i've run so far and even then the tires rub/touch each other when loaded or unloaded. I have to run the 235/85's when towing heavy for the gear ratio and not rubbing the rear tires. just food for thought. [guitar]

This is a pic of 255/85s on the rear of mine. No spacers(coil or wheel) were involved in the fitting of these tires. They didn't even rub with 4400lb of DG in the bed.
I think I could fit 35s, but 6 inch wheels are kinda narrow for 12.50 tires.

Yep, It should work just fine. I have a 2nd gen. 3/4 ton with the extra leaf spring 1ton suspension (it's not a manual, just have the camper package.. even though it's never seen a camper.)

I don't know much about how it would fit with a duallie but I can't imagine it would be too much different. A 2nd gen clears 33's no problem.. mine does. With a 2" leveling kit (which is what I'm puttin on my front) there should be no rubbing whatsoever with 35's. If your'e runnin stock rims you will need wider ones. Mine are like 6.5/7 inches in width with isn't wide enough. I have to invest in some new rims aswell... pocket drainer!

I wasn't positive myself before either but I've seen a decent amount of people about it. Last person I went to builds Monster trucks for a living & is a friend of the families so I'd take his word for it! =)

What do ya mean? It you have stock rims you need new ones. I do =( If you like wide tires jsut buy like 9 or 10 inch wide rims and you can go real wide. The stock 7inch wide rims isn't wide enough at all. You can clear 33's just fine, 35's with spacers... I'm not exactly sure as to how wide tires would fit with a dually though. That might get tricky. I have a friend with semi lookin tires and 22's w/ a 10 lug conversion on his dually and it looks bad to the bone haha.

35's should fit on a dually with a 2" spacer in the front (leveling kit) and 2" spacer between the duals in the rear... with my 22.5's there is a little rub on the control arm but none on the body or the plastic here is a pic of my truck with just leveling kit and 255/70/22.5 tires which measure right about 36" maybe a little over Attachment 73827

[laugh] When I got home and watched the vid I saw that the headlight was out. I went out and checked the bulb and shook it alittle bit and it turned back on, lol.

As far as the tires, I talked to the guy through email, and there 315/75/16 with 2" spacers and there close to rubbing between the duals, but clear everywhere. thats about a 34.6" x 12.4" tire. I wish they made 35x11.5 and we'd be in business for towing and everything. He's got a new set of 3" spacers, i might check them out if there hub centric. But he's got the stock rims and they fit fine, so 35x12.5 would fit the stock rims.

I think u might have the setup i have to run. It would cheaper, better for towing, and would still help gearing for my truck because there 33's instead of my 31.7's (235/85) with 4.10's. What rpms are u turning at 60, and 70? Any more big pics of ur truck?

From what I remember reading you have to be careful about that, especially if you hit a sharp bump, like a pothole, because the tires can come in contact through the sidewalls and bad things can happen... not exactly sure what/why though.

Yea, thats why i think the 33's (255/85's) will have to do, because 35's just don't seem to be great for towing or even daily driving with a dually unless u put 3" spacers on, and then ur gonna have a 'wide load' in the rear, lol.

here's Jimk403's truck with 255/85's and no spacers. But the 00'+ wheel's have a wider offset, so I still might have to get spacers for even these tires.
