30 LED's Not Very Bright

I bought some New LED's bulb's from autolumination.com. In attempt to save my headlight switch, keep some of the load down, There just not as bright as the stock bulb. These are the 30 LED Matrix II bulbs.

I got mine from www.superbrightleds.com They are not as "bright" as the regular bulbs, but from behind they are much more noticable. I also have the LED cab cleaerance lights and they are very bright. Someone made some custom ones.... I think maybe it was joefarmer.....

I got the bulbs for my clearance lights from the same place, superbrightleds.com. I haven't gotten it all installed yet, but just testing the bulbs and the harness, the LED bulbs seem a lot brighter but more focused to a single point. Shouldn't be too big an issue in the clearance lights, I'm thinking.

I've noticed some cars running around that have the LED's for the tail lights, and I don't like them. The tail light doesn't light up like it should and the brake lights are really dim...........looks like an accident waiting to happen!!! The clearance light LED's are cool though, I've seen them and really like them, but as far as the other bulbs, I would stay with the stockers!!! JMO

One thing i noticed about the LED's is they don't melt the ice and snow off in the winter like a regular bulb. Especially on the trailers of rigs it just ends up being a solid blanket of snow so you may as well not have any lights at all, at least a bulb will keep a small area clear.

The problem with the bulb replacement LEDs is that they have to fit into an un-effective package. The only replacement LEDs that work are the ones that spread the LEDs over the entire surface of the reflector. Something like this home-built 4x3" matrix:
