Talking 3"into5"=lower egts

hi guys, just installed my 5"stacks.i drilled a 3"hole in the 5"cross pipe and welded a piece of 3"pipe and conected under truck with 3"flex.i havenoticed nicely lower egts.used to idle at 350 degrees now almost 250.and used to go up to 900 during shifts now, only 800 and used to be 700 cruising, now 600.question,if i get a 4"off the turbo and conect to my 5"cross pipe will it go even lower?im happy its lower now but lower again would be better.thanx

Sounds awsome to me. Thinking about doing 4" downpipe to 5" stacks with no muffler here.

Where do you find the 5" stacks? I am thinking about doing a single 5" stack.

Wink

hi guys.i got my stacks from a large truck wrecker,i didnt need the muffler part and he gave me a set for 50$ and i got a damaged one and cut it for my cross pipe so its chrome too.i could have got chrome elbows but they were kinda pricey.i got the elbows from a kenworth dealer for 40$ apiece.total price with parts and clamps was under 200$.got the mounting brackets from the wrecker too.it isnt as loud as i thought it would be either.everything is clamped so it can be removed.i drilled the 3"hole in the box inline with the stock exhaust so it conected underneath nicley with a short piece of 3"flex.ill try to post some pics when i figure out how.

I just finished building the stacks for my 93 today, did 5 inch in the bed. 4 inch hole cut into it and a piece of 4 inch welded in and then 4 inch flex around the transfer case and to the downpipe. I used some 5 inch chrome turnouts I had laying around, they where banged up pretty bad so I trimmed then and made a set of straights. EGT's are alittle lower, I could hit 1250 pretty easy, now I have to work for 1200. I'll have to try uploading some pictures soon.
