2nd Gen Fuel Pump (LP) question
My fuel pressure has dropped way off in my '01 CTD recently. I changed the fuel filter and that didn't make a difference so I guess it is time for a new lift pump. I was thinking about the FASS95 but $600 is pretty steep and things are a little tight right now. I have read about a Cummins Campaign pump that is superior to the stock unit and also noticed some people like the Holley Blue pump. Would the campaign pump or holley blue be a suitable fix for my problem while saving me some cash vs. the FASS? My truck really has not performance adders so its not like I have to fuel mega hp.
Thanks for any feedback.

When using a Holley black or blue pump are their any issues to be worried about.....like the pump burning up, not holding up to diesel fuel, etc.? I'm just looking for the best "bang" for my buck while at the same time making sure my VP44 gets the fuel it needs.

I have vulcan big line kit and the campaign lift pump at idle 15psi driving is 14 psi wot is 13psi and the kit was easy to install took about an hour and I have about 200.00 into it.

The best that I can tell is that the "campagn" pump is the same as the regular lift pump you just get some extra stuff that you don't need for our trucks. I pulled the top off of both pumps (the old one and the new one) and could find no difference. That glacier walbro kit looks neat but it is a bit pricy but still cheaper than a fassII.

Kinda the whole idea of the Walbro is that they are designed
to be capable of much greater pressures than what we use.
A Walbro conversion needs to have a pressure regulator
limiting/setting what supply pressure the pump runs at (returning
excess to tank directly or maybe thru return line).
With the pumps set around 25psi they flow around 40-45
gph. There are pressure curves on a few sites to see specifics.
here's another thread detailing one installation...
