Talking 22.5's or 19.5's

I am in the process of buying a set of wheels, my only delimma is weather I want to go with 19.5's or 22.5's. The 19.5's are a direct bolt on and I would'nt have to lift it...

But I really like the 22.5's, the only thing is that the smallest tire made in 22.5 is still 36.4 inches tall. Which would require me to have about 5" of lift on a 2WD to clear them, And I would have to run adaptors...

do you pull?? if you do i think that you should go with the 19.5's. 1 so that your ratio wont be so out of whack and 2 your ride height wont be that much different. That set up would be cheaper by the looks of it.

On the other hand the 22.5's would look totally sweet.

YOu can get tires that are way stronger than the truck needs with 19.5 tires. 22.5's are sort of like buying a garbage truck to take the trash out to the curb. If you get 22.5's be sure to get the spinners for them also. Adds to the scenerio.

Get the 22.5"s, you and everyone else under 50 years of age will know how cool it is.
There is a Chevy Dual around my area on 22.5's, they are HUGE and cool looking.
(Practical?, probably not)

Let me guess you think I should take the simulators off and spray paint the wheels, lugs, and center hubs w/ a rattle can of black while they're still on the truck, through a set of whips and some truck nuts on it. While It sits parked in front of my very own double wide!!!

Since my is a tow dolly, I will need to take that into consideration. I know someone who has them on his ford and runs hot shots w/ it loaded down w/ cars, pipes, lumber... All of which on 22.5's, and he has never had a problem with his wheels.

Not to mention he got 94k out of his MICHELIN tires!!!

Yea thats what I want to do, a friend has a set of 6-22.5 Alcoas that he would sell me for $600 ( since he went to 24.5's), then $895 for adaptors, and $1500 for tires...

Not to mention I got to figure out how to fit the 36.4" tires on my truck!!!

And I don't think I would have to gear it , but If i did it would be OK since I have the 6spd, And that 6th gear ratio is high...

I got 4:10's , the guy before me hauled 5th wheel travel trailers...

As for the wheels, he's a close friend I don't think he'll let them go for that cheap to someone else, but I will probibly list them here for him...

Here's his truck... http://www.chromewheel.com/PIX/95dodge.htm

IMHO

anything over 19.5 inches is just money wasted, these trucks look best with 19.5 inch rims... and tires are more readily available, lo pro, and ur truck is gn and trailer friendlier...

The ride is nice w/ 19.5's and you can balance the tires too, Plus I can get the tires for $112 a piece ( KUHMO ), brand new!!!

So you can see where I torn between two worlds, all the look or all the function...
