2002 3500 Dually Tires

Hello gang,

What are the largest Tallest tires I can put on my 4x4 dually(2002) on the stock rims? I have 4.10 gears and I am looking to get my revs down some. Don't want to put on new rims or spacers.

I think a few have gotten away with a 255/85, but I had 265/75's on my 01' with a leveling kit & spacers & loaded the back tires still rubbed , not to mention that the truck looked terrible, ( the guy I sold it to put that junk on it & I bought it back that way ), but I think the 255's are doable, I'm not sure if they would be trailer/load friendly, might have the same problems as I had w/the 265's??????? maybe someone else will jump in with some suggestions, Dusty

I think 255's will work empty, but not towing 235's are perfect, but maybe 245's would be somewhere in between, not sure

chris the 245's are actually shorter than a 235, cuz you can only get 245/75's, the 255/85 & 235/85 are close to the same height, but the 255's are wider (think you gain a touch of height too, but not a great deal) I think w/out going wider & causing rubbing issues in the rear you're pretty much stuck w/a 235/85, sux, cuz I would like to have a bit taller myself w/my 4:10's, ever consider 19.5's??????? alot of people would never run them because of looks, but it is an option, Dusty

I'm thinking 19.5's on the '98...Vision Wheels with 265/70R19.5's Pricing tires right now

You're right on the 245's, though!

Dad and I both run 255,s and heavy loads all the time, with no troubles at all. They are .70" wider and 33" tall. and I like them. my.02

If I had not gotten the 19.5" wheels and tires, I would have gone with the 255/85R16's. My 245/70R19.5's are maybe a fraction of an inch taller.
