12V fuel thrift injectors

I am helping a friend with his truck and since we found that the original injectors are really worn now I would like to hear your opinions on aftermarket injectors.
The truck has enough power as it is, it is used for towing a racehorse trailer and carries a slide-in camper.
It already has a 3.4k GSK, a built tranny, 4" exhaust with resonator and muffler and a BHAF.
It runs a stock plate slid forwards about 2mm (0.08")
The challenge is to get the best possible fuel economy and the least amount of smoke.

Personally I am partial to DonMs injectors on the 24V, they run clean and with low EGTs. But they also offer a big increase in horsepower which is not really necessary in this case.
If it nets the result we want we could use performance injectors and just slide the plate back..

Thanks!

Markus

Well, since it's been about two months and nobody's replied, I'll take a shot at it.

I think if it were me, I'd either go with a set of used stock 215 HP injectors with low miles, or mild DAP or DFI injectors.

In the injector area you want quality, not quantity. DonM are probably the best and/or DDP.
I run the Mach 1.6 and have been extremely happy....wish I'd have installed the 2.0!

Yep, quality is the thing we want. Especially a clean burn is really necessary over here. Fuel prices are high, and "rolling coal" is anything above a slight haze- and it will get you fined.

In my 24V I'm running M3s. Perfect upgrade when combined with a Smarty, except that you definitely need a built transmission with them.
Cheers!
