I half to let out of it to like half throttle to get it to up shift and then slowly apply the throttle to prevent it from down shifting

Is it the APPS that is causing my issue?

Check your tv cable, might be a bit too tight.

Mine was the shifting bands. I had to set them, the front one was so loose that the wedge had fallen off into pan.

Yep, it runs from the drivers side of the trans up to the Throttle control above the injector pump on the drivers side, front of the engine. Sometimes you can just bent the mounting bracket on the trans a hair and it will correct it. You shouldnt have to adjust it much if thats the problem.

Thanks I will try to look at tomorrow

easy to adjust...just did mine after putting in the trans go kit. Take off your throttle cable cover, you will see it on the bottom, carefully pull off the white locking tab, then push the cable in to losen and let it push out to tighten, then install the locking tab. Pretty easy.

so does it need loostened or tightend?

13th_Samhain Apr 13, 2008 04:04 PM

The looser the more pedal needed to kick it down, the tighter the faster it will kick down and longer it will hold a gear before up shift...So I would loosen yours. It takes literally 30 seconds to do once that stupid cover is off. So you can play with it to set it the way you like. I wouldn't move it much more than 3 or 4 notches at a time....if this doesn't change it you have other issues in the tranny.
