01 boost
 

My buddy has a 01 with edge juice. he has a auto trans. we just put a J-hook on it to keep that waist gate closed. His boost is only around 25psi witch to me seems really low. I have a 01 manual and the edge comp and i push 25 on level one.

my dads only hits 18psi with a hypertech ....its auto also

Hmm, 25 seems low on an HY with the wastegate adjusted. You're manual will have an HX35. I would be checking his system for boost leaks, so broken/leaking boots, intake planum gaskets, grid heater gaskets, etc.

X2. Your HX35 will easily over boost a HY found in 01 02 autos. When I did a J-hook with my old HY I had to mod it to build more then 25. It just wouldnt go any tighter, I only gained 3 lbs till I put a shorter spring on it.
The J-hook is a funny thing. Alot of guys will put it on and have range between stock 19-22 lbs and 30 lbs.
Others (like my situation with it) will put it on and have to really change it up before seeing results.
