#0 or DDP Stage 2's?
Was thinking of pullin the 10 and grinding it to a 0...
OR - should I just get injectors?
I don't want to attemt the GSK, I bet I drop something in the pump...

Slide your plate full forward and see how u like it before u start hacking on it. If youre feeling really froggy, just pull it out, grind it to a 0 and put it back in full forward. If you take it out for a test drive and your clutch slips any, just adjust the plate a little.

Go through the side to do a GSK. When you bar the engine over, the springs come right to the top of the hole. Use a strong pencil magnet and you shouldn't have any worries about dropping something in the pump.

U gotta do the Gsk!! I was nervouse to attatck that project, but it ended up being clockwork once u take that first retainer nut off. And took about 1-1/2 hours going slow and steady. It really makes ur truck different and wakes up the accelleration. It was a shocking difference at first, now I'm pretty use to it, but at first it makes u smile for days.

gsk
I agree, The gsk really woke my engine up. I went throught the top and used two pencil magnets and carefully stuffed a rag in so in the case of a drop it would not go far. Was pretty nerve racking though, pretend your a surgeon.

thats what I did ^, except i stuffed a paper towel down to catch if i needed it(which I didn't, thankfully). I did feel like a sergeon, I had a flashlight in my teeth, needle nose pliers or screwdriver in one hand, and the retractable magnet in the other, lol. I'll say this, the one part that needs manuevering to get out is the retainer washer, thats why I had the needle nose pliers to grab it and pull it the rest of the way out, puting things back in was easy.

I would do the GSK first. Remember, with the stock springs you start defueling around 2200 - 2300 RPM's. That doesn't give you much of a range. The 3K kit gives you the extra 700 - 800 rpms and won't add more heat (injectors and/or fuel plate will).
If you were able to do the plate swap you can easily do the GSK.
If you do the injectors or #0 you will still not be able to use their full potentials as the pump will limit you. As said numerous times, the #10 and a 3K GSK have long been the easiest and best early mods and are still very drivable without high temp issues.
