Is this your town

Cause I sure know it's mine.

My school was so small it didn't even have a football team.
We don't have a stoplight either just a few signs that say "WOE" :D

But you know what, I love it and wont ever leave. 8)

You Might Be From A Small Town If...

*You can name everyone you graduated with.

*You know what FFA is.

*You ever went to parties at a pasture, barn, or in the middle of a dirt road.

*Your idea of a FUN weekend was riding around parking lots because that is where EVERYBODY was.

*Your idea of an EXCITING weekend was watching a fight in the parking lot.

*You ever went cow-tipping or snipe hunting.

*School gets canceled for city, county, or state events.

*You were ever in the Homecoming parade.

*You have ever gone home for Homecoming.

*Everyone thought it was really cool to date someone from the neighboring town.

*You had senior skip day.

*The whole school went to the same party after graduation.

*You don't give directions by street names, but instead, like this: Turn right by Mark's house, go two blocks east past Henderson's, and it's four houses left of the track field.

*The country club golf course had only 9 holes. (Or there wasn't even one.)

*You can't help but date a friend's ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.

*The people in the city dress funny, then your town picks up on the trend a few years later.

*The football coach suggested that you haul hay for the summer to get stronger.

*Directions are given using "the" stoplight as a reference.

*The city council meets at the coffee shop.

*Your "letter jacket" was worn after your 19th birthday.

*You decide to walk somewhere for exercise and 5 people pull over and ask if you need a ride.

*Your teachers call you by your older siblings' names.

*Your teachers remember when they taught your parents.

*The closest Taco Bell or Burger King is at least 30 miles away.

*So is the closest shopping mall.

*You have a good laugh reading this because you know they're all true.

*Then you forward it to everyone who lives in your town (because you know them all)!!

We also had parties in the pasture all the time. You haven't lived till you see girls streeking cross a pasture feild. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Re:Is this your town

*You can name everyone you graduated with.

All but a few....but I could name them all at the time I graduated....

*You know what FFA is.

Not only do I know what it is...I was an officer for all four years I was in school!! ;D

*You ever went to parties at a pasture, barn, or in the middle of a dirt road.

Went to more than a few of these...mostly FFA related....no alcohol....

*Your idea of a FUN weekend was riding around parking lots because that is where EVERYBODY was.

Actually, my idea of fun was going crazy on a 4 wheeler when the parking lot at the high school froze over in the winter time.... ;)

*Your idea of an EXCITING weekend was watching a fight in the parking lot.

Didn't happen very often....but always exciting and talked about for weeks after...

*You ever went cow-tipping or snipe hunting.

Tried both...suceeded in neither... ::)

*School gets canceled for city, county, or state events.

Not quite...but they did let us out early when stormy weather was coming...

*You were ever in the Homecoming parade.

When was I not....usually either on horseback or riding the FFA float.... ;D

*You have ever gone home for Homecoming.

;D Don't we all??

*Everyone thought it was really cool to date someone from the neighboring town.

Not really...

*You had senior skip day.

Definitely....stirred up a lot of trouble that day....

*The whole school went to the same party after graduation.

There was a party?? ???

*You don't give directions by street names, but instead, like this: Turn right by Mark's house, go two blocks east past Henderson's, and it's four houses left of the track field.

Go through the "square" and turn by the gazebo....take a left at the flashing red light....go down past the middle school and turn left by the bus station....go a couple of blocks until you run out of road....then....

*The country club golf course had only 9 holes. (Or there wasn't even one.)

Golf? What's golf??

*You can't help but date a friend's ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.

Been there, done that....

*The people in the city dress funny, then your town picks up on the trend a few years later.

;D Actually...it was always Wranglers and boots for me....however, the shirts did go through phases...

*The football coach suggested that you haul hay for the summer to get stronger.

Spent many a hours hauling hay....never once liked it...

*Directions are given using "the" stoplight as a reference.

See directions above....my town had ONE flashing red light. ;D

*The city council meets at the coffee shop.

Only for "informal" meetings....we actually did have a city hall.

*Your "letter jacket" was worn after your 19th birthday.

Can't claim this one...

*You decide to walk somewhere for exercise and 5 people pull over and ask if you need a ride.

Hahahaha!!! SO true.... ;D

*Your teachers call you by your older siblings' names.

I was the oldest...didn't have that problem....

*Your teachers remember when they taught your parents.

Actually...one did....

*The closest Taco Bell or Burger King is at least 30 miles away.

15 miles...but we did have our very own Dairy Queen... ;D

*So is the closest shopping mall.

25 miles....

*You have a good laugh reading this because you know they're all true.

Still chuckling.... ;)

*Then you forward it to everyone who lives in your town (because you know them all)!!

Maybe a couple....

*You can name everyone you graduated with.

Not quite. Got 700+ in my class. That, and I haven't graduated yet.

*You know what FFA is.

Proud member. Not an officer. ;D

*You ever went to parties at a pasture, barn, or in the middle of a dirt road.

Got 22 acres of my own to do that on. Usually party out at my friends shop in the middle of nowhere. Alcohol occasionally.

*Your idea of a FUN weekend was riding around parking lots because that is where EVERYBODY was.

Last time I did that, the cops got called on us. No, I wasn't involved with the whole Westheimer deal. It was in my school parking lot. ;)

*Your idea of an EXCITING weekend was watching a fight in the parking lot.

Never seen a fight.

*You ever went cow-tipping or snipe hunting.

Tried both...suceeded in both. ;D

*School gets canceled for city, county, or state events.

The water has to be at least a foot tall before they cancel. We do get out when the county fair comes to town.

*You were ever in the Homecoming parade.

Nope.

*You have ever gone home for Homecoming.

;D All four years.

*Everyone thought it was really cool to date someone from the neighboring town.

Nope.

*You had senior skip day.

Coming up and most definately going to skip. Skipped this Mon. and skipped two Fri. ago.

*The whole school went to the same party after graduation.

Been there, done that.

*You don't give directions by street names, but instead, like this: Turn right by Mark's house, go two blocks east past Henderson's, and it's four houses left of the track field.

Go through the stop light. Take a right at the honor roll. Go through the stop sign. Take your first right after the stop sign. Follow street around and take first left. First house on the left.

*The country club golf course had only 9 holes. (Or there wasn't even one.)

Sorry. We got 3 different 18 hole courses.

*You can't help but date a friend's ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.

Been there, done that.

*The people in the city dress funny, then your town picks up on the trend a few years later.

Wrangler's and boots on Thurs. and Fri. Kinda loose fitting jeans and t-shirts the other days.

*The football coach suggested that you haul hay for the summer to get stronger.

Hauled hay a couple of times. Sucks. Never did it for coach. Never played football.

*Directions are given using "the" stoplight as a reference.

Ours has many.

*The city council meets at the coffee shop.

Nope. City hall.

*Your "letter jacket" was worn after your 19th birthday.

Nope. Hopefully. ;)

*You decide to walk somewhere for exercise and 5 people pull over and ask if you need a ride.

LOL. Yup.

*Your teachers call you by your older siblings' names.

I'm the oldest.

*Your teachers remember when they taught your parents.

Dad grew up in a small town where everything here is true (and I mean EVERYTHING) and mom grew up in River Oaks in downtown Houston.

*The closest Taco Bell or Burger King is at least 30 miles away.

More like 5 mins. Dairy Queen is 10. McDonald's is 5. My dad's town doesn't even have a Taco Bell or Burger King. Has McDonald's, Braums Ice Cream, Dairy Queen, and Pizza Hut.

*So is the closest shopping mall.

3 mins.

*You have a good laugh reading this because you know they're all true.

Yup.

*Then you forward it to everyone who lives in your town (because you know them all)!!

Possibly.
[/quote]

Yep. that sounds just like mine.
I remember my senior year they let out school for one week during rifle season. I guess they thought they may as well make it a holiday rather than have the whole school miss. [laugh]
