Dusty Rock,

My first X wife is a survivor of Hodgkins disease now on her 5th year of total remission.

The Cancer and treatment was mostly to blame for our break up. We had just purchased a new home, 2 cars, and my boys were just 3 and 4 years old. After 32k in medical bills,(20% of the total bill), in 3 years our relationship began to unravel and there was no turning back.

Please get the counseling associated with your wifes cancer treatment and it very well may save your marriage in the same step!

Rick

P.S. I have pm'd you with my personal info call most any time.

Rick:

Sorry to hear about you and your Ex. The stress of the situation that you both were in and all of life’s other tribulations combined really start to become overwhelming. Hope all is well now.

The advice to seek counseling is sound, and I am going to look into it. As I mentioned above all of the other things in life (including work ) combined with this, my mind seems to start to spin out of control, thinking about things and trying to solve issues and plan ahead trying to be prepared for the hurdles ahead and running through different scenarios in my mind. WOW…… it’s tiring and overwhelming at times.

Thanks for the offer to call and talk about it.

Sorry to hear of the news, Dusty. My mother fell victim to cancer, as well as some friends. Stay strong, stay with her, gather your family and friends, you will need everything you can get to get through this. Good luck. As you can see from all the replies, we are with you, keep us posted, we care.

Hello all:

Want to give you all an update as to what is going on with Nancy & me. On Tuesday the 25th we had a Doctor appt. in Ventura. He was really upbeat and gave us hope and encouragement. He also confirmed that we do not have to do something about it today or tomorrow, that is in agreement with a friend of mine that is a pathologist. That took a lot of pressure off of us. Also he said that a lumpectomy would probably work. However, we had another "opinion" with a doctor in Santa Barbara on Wednesday. He was completely different wanting more tests immediately including a PET radioactive test, and the MRI discs to study in more detail and more appointments etc. He really scared us again.

Want you all to know your prayers are working.

We have an appointment with a team of specialists (oncologists & surgeons) at Stanford on Friday morning at 8:20. They will study Nancy’s charts and biopsy and will meet with us. This takes about 5-6 hours and will give us their determination. Whatever they say we are going to do and not look back and wonder if we made the right decision. So we will be driving the CTD up to San Francisco on Thursday and get a motel for Thursday and Friday in Menlo Park. Nancy asked me when the Diesel truck meet in central Ca. was and I told her Sat. the 5th. She said she really wanted us to go so we will drive the truck and stop in San Luis Obispo on the way back home. Please continue your prayers. THEY ARE WORKING.

Dusty

Good job, check out everything, the more you know, the better your decision and planning will be. Do not be afraid to ask or demand answers, you need them, and if you are not satisfied, go to another place. Keep up the work, and go for it. Hang in there!!!!!!!!!

Want you all to know YOUR PRAYERS ARE WORKING ! The doctors at Stanford (9 of them) could not feel any thing in her lymph node like the doctor in Santa Barbara did the week before!

Nancy had her examinations done this last Friday. We have to make a decision to have Chemo prior to surgery (3 months) or just get surgery then Chemo. The Chemo prior to surgery may shrink the tumor but it will also destroy any evidence of where the Cancer was. She is leaning towards surgery then Chemo and radiation. She is scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday the 15th at 7:30 am. So we will be driving up to Stanford again. She is going to have a Female surgeon that specializes in breast cancer. Please if you will continue your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all.

Dusty

Will be thinking of you two often. Makes all of life's other problems seem trivial compaired to the things that really matter.... Each other.

My mother has had several "lumps" over the years. She has overcome each one and I figure your wife will do the same.
