XM radio constantly loading?

When I get in the truck first thing, the XM will work on the station it is on but as soon as I change the station, it goes to a "LOADING" mode and will stay that way for up to 1/2 hour or so before it comes back on. Anybody else have this problem? Also it seems like every time I go under something as thin as a power line it drops reception, what gives? It is a roadie II. Thanks.

I wonder if your antenna is going bad, or the wiring is chaffed somewhere and is grounding itself somewhere.

I had that same issue, called customer support and they fixed it.

I have had that happen with a bad antenna wire.
One of my Skyfi units does that once in a while and usually unplugging it for a minuit resets it.

Good luck

Ill give them a call and see what comes of it. Thanks.

i would call them. it sounds like the satellite is having trouble locating your XM receiver. there is something they can do to fix that.

similar to pinging a computer to see if it is on a network.

Yep, me too every now and then. When it does happen I turn the power off and back on, which seems to fix it.

Mine has been doing it every morning for about two weeks now. When I get in the truck my music will play for about 1 minute and then go to searching for signal saying "antenna". After about 5 miles its just fine. I think They got a problem!

Mine is the same way. I ussally shut the truck down on the street then fire up well still rolling and "90% of the time it works 60% of the time". Little anchorman for you guys.

Sounds like a bad antenna wire to me.
I ran mine through my door jam and the old door pinched it at the hinge. Frayed the wire to a sliver.
Sad thing is though, an antenna costs about as much as a new deck so look at this as a chance to upgrade. Thats what I did.
New antennas at Best Buy were about $40....a new unit was $50.
UPGRADE :)

And as far as losing signal when parked under something, it doesn't surprise me. If you put your hand over the antenna puck itll cut off. If Im parked under the tree in my front yard just right ill have a weak signal.
