Is It Worth Anything?

So Sunday I was in the garage doing a little cleanup.Moving parts around and making room.Lo and behold I found part of an old project,a McCulloch Supercharger. And it even appears to be complete,a little tired maby but complete. Is it worth anything or aluminum scrap value only?

Wow...Some old school stuff....It's got to be worth something...I think it's worth something beside scrap metal...

What model is it??? I seen one on the internet for $1,000...

I think it's as rare as the first factory injection system for the 1956 Chevy V8..

or the dual quad intake for the Dodge 426..

Real histroy behind the company..

Wow, I paid $300.00 for a used one back in the late 60's for my Mustang, a beautiful piece of machinery.

Then I switched to Dual Paxtons similar to the units found on the Avanti's

Yer pullin our chains, right?

Depending on the model number, it could be worth not much ( still more than scrap value ) up to thousands if it is the right factory Studebaker unit.

Then there are all these rat rodders who drool over such rodder porn.

Get us the model number off the head.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane,
In the late 60's I had acquired an air cooled 4-cylinder Mc Cullough drone engine and it was my dream to build it into a go kart or Cushman Scooter.

Pat,I am not yanking your chain but,it is from another life. I seem to almost remember this was for a Olds engined 48 Ford sedan delux. I will look at it again this weekend. What the heck is a rat rod?

If you are the same age is I think you are, it is what we used to build back when we were POOR utes...... A little of this, a little of that, hacked together on the old body Grandpa had behind his barn. You remember, the one that your dad said was going to get you killed?

Anyway, now the high dollar dudes are spending a fortune to look poor.......[duhhh]

Pat I never had that experience with the grandfather,BUT my dad had the same comments when he saw me doing figure 8's around the gas pumps in the Gulf station in my '65 Mini-Cooper.[laugh]

Rat rodders, gow jobs, etc. would probably show interest in that blower. Even a restorer trying to score %100 on a job....

I had an old Mooneyham blower off a dragster I picked up at Carlsbad raceway sitting by the dumpster one night.'
It was cracked at the front corner and when you turned the vanes you could tell it was warped....probably from being torqued down too tight. They only require 8-10 foot lbs or when they heat up from compressing air they will pop like that one did....

I gave it to a buddy who wanted to make a lamp or table out of it..

LOL, Grampa was any old farmer who you could give 15-20 bucks to and drag that 37 Chevy pickup from out of the back 40 and give your Father ulcers.......

Mine got so tired of me bringing home projects that he said the next one would get folded in half with the loader on the Deere......... So I kept the last one and started bringing home parts.........[laugh]

Nope, as a matter of fact, my most favorite car as a young man was 65-69 Corvairs........ D60-13's on the front and B50-13's on the rear on widened wheels and not much else would get you fairly neutral on the handling, but when she snapped out, it was berry, berry quick. :o
