wireless help!

I just picked up my self a new laptop(thinkpad g41). It came with a wireless card it in, 802.11g and b. My old laptop had wireless on it but i only could use it in one part of the house. For a router I used a linksys 802.11B. The new laptop is smaller, ligher and easer to cary around so i decided to get another wireless router. I found a brand new sony vaio PCWA-A200 at a yard sale for $10, I picked it up. It was still in the srink rap and had never been used, and it transmitted on the same 802.11b. My problem is that The linksys works fine but the vaio says i need a password to get on it. I haven't changed anything with the router, this is how it came default. I can't figure out how to get rid of the password so I can access it. I would like to get it working so I can go every where in my house. I really like the freedom of wireless and could care less if other people tryed to get on my wireless, I dont think it sends a sigoal far enough for people to use.

Thanks for any and all help

Coop

The factory default password for this unit is "public". You can get the user manual from http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-...l?mdl=PCWAA200

Usually on a router there is a reset button to set it to the default settings. Usually there is a generic IP address that you need to type into your address bar to access the firmware. ON mine it is 192.168.1.1. When you get into the firmware you type in the default password admin or public. Never worked on a sony so I assume that the are the same as others????????

there is a reset button but it did nothing. Maybe that is because it was already set at default. I will try the IP address thing later this night.
