Why is it that when you are driving and looking for an address, you turn the radio down?

My wife turns the radio up then backs into the garage after hitting the dog. I turn the radio off so I at least have the pleasure of hearing the damage as it happens.

Just kidding about the wife, she never listens to the radio.
