Why is it that....

Now I'm not out to make fun of ford owners in anyway by this post, its simply me puting out my observations and getting this groups input.

I have noticed that everywhere I go, it seems that Ford drivers always have "CAT" as in "Caterpillar Diesel", plates or stickers on their trucks. As an example, I made a quick trip from West Hartford CT to Worcester MA today to visit a college buddy. It is about 70 miles or so each way taking Rt. 84 to Rt. 90 and then Rt.290. On the trip up alone I saw three different Fords with Cat plates and one even had a CAT sticker in the back window. The best part was that one of them was a gasser.

What I'm asking is, why do I only see this on Fords. I never see it on Dodge's or Chevy's.... just Fords? Whats the deal???

Mike

Is there a CAT plant, dealership, or major service depot in that area? They could just be supporting the company they work for.

Well its like this......around here all I see is John Deere plates plastard all over the front of Dodge/Cummins trucks. Heck one idiot in a red dodge 2500, regular cab, with a 5" tip even has a big John Deere sticker in his back window behind his cab rack and John Deere mud flaps in the toolbox......oops......yeah, ahhhhhh, I don't know who this guy is...

I had a CAT plate on the front of our exploder....actually I think it is still there and my wife drives that all the time. I used to work for a CAT dealer. Probably just contractors, workers or something like that around the area. If I had bought a 6 uh-oh I'd run CAT stickers, emblems, paint....anything to try and convince Ford to drop International like a lead weight and put a CAT in their truck. I speak from experience now, my Ford for work is the 6 uh-oh and it's alright, but.....not impressed and horrible fuel mileage. 237 miles on 23 gallons of diesel....and a lot of it highway. YIKESSS!!!!

Don't take it the wrong way Ford guys...I'm still die hard Ford, luv the truck just not a big fan of the engine, maybe the 6.4L??

I have noticed the same thing here. Are they implying that Cat is the maker of their engine?
