Who's workin'?

Stuck here on midinights all weekend. Gonna miss the fireworks. Suppose to be hot and crappy out anyway, so I'll keep the whining to a minimum. Putting the new kitchen in the cabin this weekend. Red Mahogany stain on the cabinets. Made my own counter top, dark green marble laminate with natural oak edge. Routered the end, and a deep, stainless, double bowl sink. Went with flat panel doors, and I'm cutting out the panel and putting glass in temporarily. Stained glass later. Anyway... don't need any statistics this weekend, everybody stay safe and have fun, get the grills goin! Have to keep PETA at bay.

Thanks, they're really coming along nicely for a first timer. It'll be nice when I can just relax and USE the place, instead of working on it all the time. It's real close though. Been trying to sneak some fishing in.

Re:Who's workin'?

Not working but have to go out in an hour or so and clean my filthy truck. Man, it has never been this dirty. Just returned from a way off the beaten path exploratory trip of about 1200 miles. Some of this was dirt roads with a lot of mud. The inside is filthy too. Cleaning this mess up is going to be WORK.
Redleg, I am considering building another house and am thinking about doing my own cabinetry. Have done lots of woodwork in the past but never a job of this magnitude so am a little leery of it, particularly as my wife is very picky about finish and quality. (this is not a complaint) At least it will give me an excuse to buy some good woodworking tools. Next question will be what tools to buy and what books to read.

Re:Who's workin'?

Big holiday plans.....Then the better half decides to go to St Louis for the weekend to see our son. Then, one of my workers get sick, so I have to work. Kinda sounds like a conspiracy, don't it. Oh well, on the bright side, I'm being paid to anwer such questions as " Who is working?". Everyone have a safe weekend.
Ed

Re:Who's workin'?

Its fun to work in a business that caters to the rich, why would anybody want to play golf today, I think just to make me work. Only 4 hours in the mornings for setup then poolside with cold one or ten -- temps suppose to be 112 8) 8) today. Oh well I dont work many weekends so not to big of a deal.
Happy 4th to every one.

Re:Who's workin'?

I'm "working" too. I'm leading a community marching band in our local 4th of July parade. For everybody in the band, its just a lot of fun. But, being a choir/band director for a living, it's another day at the office. It's not too bad, though. The people in the band are really nice, and the spectators really appreciate the band. This is after spending 12 hours a day the rest of the week teaching teenagers how to drive. (do I sound a little frazzled?)

Happy Fourth Everybody!!!!

DeWain

Re:Who's workin'?

Hey Rattlinram, just noticed in your sig that you are southern born. Not wanting to start a fight here or a long discussion, but have heard this many times over the years. Can you explain to a non American just what this means eh? Where does southern born or 'the south' start? What constitutes the 'north'? Is being from the north a Yankee?
