The last best friend I had didn't like getting wet. He loved to walk on the leash. I would take him to the back porch and tie him to the rail and give him a bucket wash. Then we would go for his walk until almost dry. I really miss that old dog.

I've never had a problem with Diesel and water, he loves it! I think he actually looks forward to it. I open the shower and he jumps in. Most of the time I can't get out of the hot water, He just sits there and lets it run on him. I like chasing the sprinklers and playing in them.

I have a handheld shower massage with a soap up valve. Works great for scrubbin the mutts in the shower. Pitbulls have short hair and get cold easily so they get the hot water treatment and aren't allowed outside until they're dry. I use wipes for their ears and clip the nails at the same time...then dress the cuts with the dremel. ;0)

My dog wants to take a bath every time my daughter does, so we let her hang over the side and splash around. About every 3-4wks she gets a real bath.

I take my dog to my aunts house when my cousin is bathing her dog. that way the dogs can play in the tub together, I dont have to do anything, and the dog gets cleaned without a mess at my house....

I'm not sure I'd want to be locked in a shower stall with an unhappy husky.

My border collie HATES getting bathed. But hey thats what you get for rolling in cow pies, rotting squirrels and skunk smell .

Also remember that a dog's skins far more sensitive than ours. Simply because they only have 2 or 3 layers of skin (not sure on the exact amount) where as humans have more like 5 or 6 layers of skin. So when your bathing your dog do him/her a favour and run the water luke-warm.

Your not the only one. My chocolate lab loves the shower. I have one of those hand held sprayers in the spare bathroom which has a 5' shower stall.
When were camping he just seems to find a watering hole. If we are at the coast he loves the ocean & I get the salt & sand off him with the outside shower on our 5vr.

Pic of him in my gallery

My Black Lab LOVES water in ANY form! My house has three bathrooms, one tub is mostly used just for him. You have to be careful not to be standing between him and the bath tub when you ask him if he wants to take a bath, He will run right over you trying to get in the tub

I have 5 dogs. Two english mastiffs, 1 german shepherd, 1 lab , and 1 boxer lab cross. They all get the hose. When the mastiffs were pups I used the bath tub, but they are getting to big for it.

Next time you take your truck to the car wash tie your dog in the back ,a little advice though , the brushless car wash does not do as good of job as the spinning brushes.

My Wife started giving our Weimaraner baths the first day we brought him home about 7 years ago. He's not a huge fan of getting one, but all you need to say is 'It's time for a bath' and he goes upstairs with you and jumps in the tub. We have a extended shower hose in that tub and he just stands there and lets you wash him. The funniest thing is, especially when the water is kinda warm, he'll get sleepy and try to lean against you as you're washing him. You literally have to push him back and make him stand up on his own. Then once you're done washing him you can actually just hold a towel beside him (between the dog and the exit from the tub) and tell him to 'shake' and he'll shake three or four times. I generally have to lift him out of the tub - one end at a time, because he's afraid of slipping on the tub when he jumps out - he had a bad experience with that once - ended up limping for a couple of days. Being a Weimaraner, he dries pretty quickly with a couple of towels and some vigorous shaking on his part. We bathe him about once a week unless he finds something dead in the yard or during a walk that he feels the need to roll around in :-)

uhm I've done that once with my Black & Tan coonhound. Lets say most people who saw were a little irritated. But, who wants too clean a hound covered in cow pies? I guarrantee none of them would have done it.
