where do i find....
i have a truck tent set-up - works great!
here's what we went with:
Adventure Truck Tent Homepage - don't be fooled by all the pics, they make a size for small trucks, as well as full-size both short & long box
Adventure Truck Tent thru Cabelas
to sleep on we use these:
Sleeping Pads from Cabelas - size large, two of them (almost a perfect fit between the wheel wells)
we chose the self inflating pads because it saved a few inches of height - these few inches saved were nice because i made a shelf to go across the box at the front of the bed where we sleep with our heads underneath. the shelf is real handy for storing clothes and such. i also made a shelf to fit over each wheel-well which collapses via piano hinges when not in use. i also had a welder friend make me some steps to slide into the hitch receiver. its a pretty sweet set-up, we get compliments all the time.
i can't believe how much room this tent provides - and i have a short box, in a long box you would be very very comfortable. also, the difference in warmth is amazing compared to a ground tent. just be sure to carry some leveling blocks or 2x6 or 2x8 blocks so you won't be sleeping in a head down position (whichever end you decide to put your head at).
feel free to ask any questions, i'll subscribe to this to keep an eye on it. i'll also try to track down some pics i took of the set-up . . .
later,
jason

that sounds like an awesome set up! would love to see pics!! yeah if you can fit 2 people in there and be comfy i would be comfy since its just me. i thought about the ground tent and i have one, but it seems the truck tent would be a lot easier and more comfy. thanks jason for all the good tips

you meant horses, not cab of truck.
