When will it stop
When will it stop
I just forked out $48.93 for 27 gallons of diesel fuel. :'( :'(<br><br>That's a whopping $1.79 a gallon. >
<br><br>I'd sure like to know when these fuel prices are going to stop rising. If it keeps it up I'm going to buy a motorcycle to drive to work this summer. :

Re:When will it stop
Prices just jumped in PA now at 1.96 this is bull$hit....I have talked to alot of other truck drivers and they feel the same way....its not only the drivers paying more but everyone PAYS because this price is passed on to comsumers by higher freight rates
Re:When will it stop
I don't see how you guys that haul for a living are making it. ??? I drove are International the other day and filled the tanks, it cost me almost $400 to fill the 2 tanks.

If we all started riding motorcycles to work it would solve several problems.<br>Less gas used. (would drive the oil companies nuts
)<br>More parking spaces. (Can park 2 bikes in 1 parking space)<br>Less road rage: can't hide in your steel "cage". (
)<br>More attention to task at hand
try to ride and talk on a cell phone, eat breakfast, read a paper etc.
)<br>And it would be a heck of a lot more fun to commute. ;D<br><br>Waiting for warmer weather.

Re:When will it stop
The only problem with using less gas is that the refineries have to produce so much to keep the places going and if we use less, they will jack the price up even more to keep the places running. Look at the prices overseas where cars get a bajillion miles to the gallon. $3.50 or so a gallon!!!!!!!<br>It takes so much to keep the refineries going and so much to keep the country going and any difference in the balance causes major upsets. No, I don't like paying a buck seventy-nine either. Lets put the farmers to work and grow our own fuel, the technology is there and has been for some time. Think of how many jobs could be created and the land put to good use.<br><br>(ducks under the desk to avoid the rain of stones, the gate has been opened)

diesel is over 2 bucks here....more than super unleaded. It pisses me off when they do this and home heating oil is almost 2 buck. Can u say ripped off, which is what they r doing to us..<br>this amont ather is a very touchy subject for me. <br><br>A local radio station yesterday was talking about the price of fuel and a girl in a local school who played basketball for them. This girl would turn her back to the flag during our national anthem....Dont know about u but Im all for aour freedoms but show some respect. And if u dont like the country U R FREE TO LEAVE. Dont let the door hit u in the but on the way out...<br>Sorry just venting
Re:When will it stop
Stop buying the fuel and quit hauling for cheap rates, stop paying your vehicle payments due to operating in the RED. Unity not throat cutting will increase freight rates, driver wages and lower fuel prices. Without us there is no services, supplies or profit-White collar power and politics depends on us to enable them to overcharge and over tax- Park them in the driveway without us they have nothing to sell or collect for. Hungry rich and powerful people listen to poor working folks when they are without 10-4. PK
Re:When will it stop
We could all just start riding bicycles. Think of the money we'd save on gas, oil, maintenance, insurance, vehicle costs, taxes (roads would need less maintenance)...
Re:When will it stop
DieselDude,<br><br>You may not realize it, but the prices in Europe are so high because close to 75% of the price is TAX in one form or another.<br><br>When I was stationed in Naples, Italy 11 - 15 years ago, gas prices were $1.25/liter ($5.00 for a little more than a gallon). Thankfully, we had gas coupons that made the price closer to $1.50/gallon. But if we used more gas than we had coupons for, we had to purchase it for that same $1.25/liter like every other local. Motor oil was also rationed. We received coupons for 4 liters of oil per month. I don't remember the price of oil with the coupon, but oil was $9.00/liter at the local gas station.<br><br>I agree - the prices we pay are outrageous for here in the U.S. of A. But compared to what I used to have to spend I don't complain very much. I try to remember what John McIntyre and AlpineRam and other DTR members in Europe are paying.<br><br>DW
