What's wrong with people these days?
I like that idea about using a momentary pushbutton switch for brake lights... that'd be a good scare for someone especially when all they can see is the rear of a 3500's tailgate and dually fenders.
Restraint is good, but sometimes hard to do. Its hard not following them until they get out of the car and just make it personal
. In the long run it isnt worth it though.
Make a call to some local police in that area and make it know how fast people are going. Seems to help here.

I was travelling in the boonies of NewYork in the firemans side of a ton diesel Ford truck with a twenty-eight-foot trailer-load of Holsteins on board.
The guy driving stands around six-foot-fifteen in his socks, with arms about five foot long.We were cruising along, when out of nowhere whirls this old trap of a car, shoots around us, and clips the front bumper as he cuts us off; nothing serious, just nicks it, but enough that we felt and heard it.
Then, once he gets in front of us, he just keeps getting slower and slower.
Up ahead, on the left side of the road, is a tavern, way out in nowhere.
This idiot jams on the brakes and whips over into the tavern parking lot.
My friend mutters "I need to have a
talk with that ____" and also pulls into the parking lot, steps out, and in about three giant steps, is reaching in the car door, dragging that idiot out. After he swept the ground with him real good, and
gave him a few lessons
on manners, he reached in under the steering column and jerked out a big handful of wires, then he pulls out the keys and throws them over in a briar thicket. We never saw, or heard from, that dude again; but, I bet he never forgets the lesson he got that day.
I know exactly what you mean. We used to live on a small dirt road in a little town. One of the young ladies that lived about two blocks away aquired a new boyfriend. (trying to be nice here). He drove a small green S10 truck with wide tires and a loud radio. He drove it at about 40 and sometimes maybe over 60 down this small road. Thats my estimate but half the time he was sliding it sideways for several blocks so it had to be something like that. Several times I made gestures for him to slow down, and he would gladly tell me I was #1. Once I called the sherrif but it took them an hour to get there so he was gone. One day I had enough and stood in the road and made him stop. I told him I didn't care really how fast he went, but if he didn't slow it down he may find himself in a situation where he's going to have to explain to someone momma why he had to run so fast thru there and apologize for killing one of the kids that lived on this street. After that, he would then be spending time with me out in the woods with nobody else around but my two buddies, Smith and Wesson. Luckiy for him, and the rest of us, he got the message, took another route at a resonable speed.
Unfortunatley for the rest of the world, there will always be the ones who will never get the message or have any hint of a brain. I know I don't drive perfect all the time and I was 16 and stupid once too, but at least I learned how to act before I hurt anyone. But some people will never learn how to act.

but he still ended upside down in my driveway one night. It was in the spring of the year and when he hit the railroad ties I use for fence posts they just laid over enough to provide a ramp for the car ....... endoed it!
