Let me start off by saying that my dad never asks for anything and if you buy him anything very expensive he gets very mad. I know everyone says that but both of my parents tell us not to spend alot on them so we can spend more on our 2 kids. My brother and I went together and got our dad a 42" LCD tv. Our parents had just had their back porch finished into a room and we had been telling him that he needed to buy a big screen tv to put back there. He started aggravating us about getting him one for Christmas and we could even give it to him for Thanksgiving so we could watch football while we ate. We decided to go ahead and get him one and surprise him. We set it up on the Saturday before Thanksgiving while they were gone out of town. He got home on Sunday and we were there. He walked into the room and looked over twice and said "What the hell is that" His eyes were as big as baseballs. We said thats your tv you wanted. I thought he was gonna strangle us. He was so mad that we spent that much money on him.
