What else do you drive on a regular basis?

What do you drive on a regular basis besides the obvious?

This is my alternate ride, the Buzz Buggy aka the cranberry buggy, 99 Plymouth Neon. Four cylinder five speed and gets 44 mpg. There is quite a story behind this car. I bought it for my son brand new for Christmas of 98. He rolled it five months later and did $9000 worth of damage. There was not a straight piece of sheet metal on it. Took it to a friend up north who fixed it, added the Viper racing stripes, the power bulge hood, the spoiler on the trunk lid, and the sun roof. Gave it back to him about six months later and he hit a deer and did another $3500 worth of damage. I bought him an old 85 Plymouth Gran Fury and I took the Neon for my work driver.

For those of you that have heard the stereo in my truck, the one in this car makes it sound like a walkman. He had entered this one in several base offs and the highest decibels recorded were just a little over 133 and that was still not maxed out. Now if you don't know what that means, OSHA requires you to wear hearing protection at 85 decibels. (the liscense plate is a dead give away, boom for the stereo, berry for the cranberry color)

The guys make fun of me for driving it but at 44 mpg, I don't realy give a sh, er, ah, crap you know.

OK, lets see what you drive..

The wife's Jeep Liberty on occasion, but not since it had a run in with the RDRA. My daughter has a 1974 Volkswagon Beetle, red of course with 75,000 original miles on it. That thing is a blast to drive ( no heat or AC though ).
Drive my son's 2001 Ford Ranger Edge V6 5sp.
oh and various and sundry oh-fishal police vehicles.

Part time operator of a bombed fax....
just added the optional, new and improved 2003
hide-away storage bins

89 Jaguar XJ6 - bought from the proverbial rich widow - it sat in a garage for 5 years before I got it. Smoothest riding car I have ever been in - got 26 mpg (at 75-80 mph) last Christmas on a flog to the mountains with me, my wife, my little brother (at 260 he is littler than me), luggage, and Christmas presents loaded down.

Other things I will be driving again shortly - 78 W200, 74 Scout, and 53 IH R-112. On down the road a ways - 69 442 convertible, 64 Cutlass convertible, 69 Scout 800A, and a 60 Dodge Town and Country with a 77 IH Scout drivetrain.

Too many projects, not enough me to go around...........

Coolness.

I had a 72 Scout years ago with a seven foot Meyers snow plow. That thing would go just about anywhere I pointed it.

I love the Scout, but out here it's hard to find one that isn't totally rusted out.

I have a lowered, red, 1989 Chevy C1500 Sport Side that I take out when it's nice, but I keep it in the garage most of time.

Wife's '99 Dodge Stratus ES - probably the best car we've ever owned. Had 25k on it (originally was a Dollar Rental). No mechanical problems of any kind at 89k miles. Still have the original shocks/struts, ball joints, etc. Replaced the tires, brakes, serpentine belts, trans juice/filter, motor juice/filter. At 80 mph on a long drive, it gets 30-32 mpg.

The truck sits and I drive my 88 Nissan Sentra, 230,000 miles and i have just now had to do engine work, head gasket blew. Pretty good quality car, very low maintenance. On occasion it is the wife's Honda Civic. Then the obvious, I ride my horse around too!!!

I'm currently looking for a winter battle car. One of those large GM or Chrysler or Ford sedans that is totally capable of some full contact parking and shopping during our winter months. The Buick beaters always served me well.
Feels like a nice armored cacoon too.
