What do you guys think about this?
 

My brother got an air compressor for christmas and I want to get him this to go with it because he got like an impact wrench and air ratchet and things. Do you guys think this would be a good addition and is it a good price? Shipping is what costs the most but the product isnt much. Heres the link:

BTW, the air compressor is like a 25 gallon 5hp 150psi compressor! Is that big enough?

I bought a similar one at one of those traveling tool sales. I paid about the same as the price plus shipping and handling on the one you are looking at. I use it all the time to lube my truck and other vehicles. Works good. I don't know if the one on e-bay is the same brand as mine. I do know that you can buy them at farm and fleet stores, auto parts places, larger big box stores, etc. The compressor that your brother has is more than adequate to handle this tool. My compressor is only a 2hp/12 gal./100 psi and it works fine.

I think you can find a better deal localy.We have discount tool places here that sell the same thing for $9.99 + tax.The guy is making money on the shippping.Look at the tractor and implement places around you, Goodluck RIck, Another great gift for your brother who just got a air compressor is some new hose,or a hose winder etc.

My son just got me a new 6 hp oiless compressor with a 30 gallon tank and 150 psi max for my birthday. It seems to do real well.

Harbor Freight is another good source for cheapo tools. They're not good for tools you'd use to make a living, but if you're a weekend warrior, you can get by with their stuff. Got my axle puller, timing wrench, and impact wrench from them. Shoddy low rent Asian (not Japanese) stuff, but it does the job and I couldn't have afforded American made stuff.

I just got an oilless air compressor 150 PSI upright 30 gallon from Sears and you get a box of air tools with it,Impact air hammer and an air ratchet for 299.
But I had heard that the oilless compressors don't last that long :(
That would be a bummer

That's the same exact set up he got me. I left him keep the tools since I already had them and gave him my old compressor which worked fine.

Did you do the compressor break in like the book says?

The book says (yes, I actually read the book) that it is a 50 per cent duty cycle machine. That is, if the compressor runs more than 30 minutes per hour, you need a bigger machine and that the life of this machine will be reduced. Don't know for sure, just putting out what the book says.

An oiled compressor of the same horsepower and air output compared to an oiless compressor will last longer. Oiless compressors just are not my thing. I would rather have all the internals happy and lubed than not lubed.

I haven't read the book yet,and it has never been turned on yet either ;D
I am going to set it up in my basement for now since I don't have a garage yet,I do a lot of computer work out of my basement like case mods and using an air grinder would cut down on the beating the Dremel to death,I have went through 4 Dremels in the year so the compressor is a welcomed piece of equipment,and most of my work is light the compressor should last quite a while.
By the way the tools you get with this compressor,I checked @ Sears for what it would cost to buy them separate and it would have been around $200 so I think it was a good deal,granted the air tools are not top grade,but I am not rebuilding cars everyday either ;D

The book says to let it run for 15 minutes with the tank drain open when starting for the first time to break it in right.
