But I didn't get a CTD. I found a 2004 Ram QC 4x2 with the 5.7 Hemi. It has 29k miles and was too good of a deal to pass up. I really do love the truck and it has plenty of power for me. I think I am officially converted to a mopar man after driving mostly Fords. I still own an 89 Mustang but its more of a toy. Maybe when I get this truck paid for and get a house of my own I will then look for a CTD.

And you can always sell that Rustang for an old beat-up motorless 1st gen and then pay 3,000 and drop in a P-Pumped second gen moter... Hook one up to that 727 transmission, twin turbo's, you'd be in there...

The new ones have cylinder deactivation, do they not?
The guy must have a lead foot if hes only getting 8mpg. I drive mine a little "spirited" and I get just under 14mpg mostly city. On the interstate it gets about 17mpg but I attribute that to the 3.92 gears. The 20"s I imagine don't help either.

Congrat's on truck!
Hemi has lots of power.
Amen on the lead foot, son-in-law had one for a while and got 14-15 on highway, 13 in city. Still not great. sold it because he wanted a 4X4 and found a good used cheby. Having said that, Dodge gassers aren't known for their excellant mileage numbers.

He does kind of have lead foot but we took it to the dealer and they said it just "isnt Broken in yet", I dont know, but he is going to trade it for a CTD soon for the pulling power.

Mine does. I have an 06 Jeep Commander with the Hemi. Ive been avg. 13 mpg
but hey its the wifes car
While the Hemi is no "ahem" Cummins, it`s still a nice engine. I have a buddy with an 03 Hemi and that truck flat out moves, runs nice etc. If had enuff $$$ I`d have one just for the heck of it. Good luck with the new ride!

No really heavy pulling, though.
