Way cool, yet controversial (Google Maps Feature)

Has anyone seen the new satellite feature on Google? It was just released last night, and it is really cool. I'm sure the anti-tech scardies will be screaming in violation of privacy in no time. The thing is, the images are anywhere from 6 to 12 months old, so it's not like this is real time.

If you have not seen it yet, go to http://maps.google.com then click on the satellite link on the top right. What else is cool, is you can use the normal street map, then click satellite and it sticks a push-pin right on the location you were looking for, but with an areal view.

Now, I just have to find out where all the hot beach babes hang out and click the zoom in button...

You can run, but you can't hide. Hey, I can see my house from space. Wait a minute...why is the mailman's truck in my driveway?

On the old side, none of the roads around me are here and the roads are 4-5 years old.

I had fun with Terraserver when it first started, and you could zoom in pretty close for free.

Found some discrepencies as to what day they claimed it to be, and what day it actually was.

I.E., my truck being in the driveway at a time, according to them, it shouldn't have been,
and the church up the road's parking lot being full on a "Friday", when it is only full on Sunday.

I'll have to check out the Google one and see how accurate it is.

Haha. I can see my parents house so I know I was born. I also found the house I'm living in right now in college so . I just tryed terraserver and it put my house about 4 streets away from where my actual house is. Good thing I know the roads back home.

Not that old.

I wonder if they update in regions because I checked out my place and the view appears to be less than 9 months old. Terraserver was over 3 years old for my region last time I checked.
