The Water Cooler June 05 - 11

Last week's thread barely made two pages, only had 19 posts.
In the past it used to be several pages long by Saturday.
Should we dump the weekly "Cooler" thread?

Sunny warm & humid in the Nation's Capitol.

Still tryin' to finish painting a spare bedroom so Wifey can put the furniture she bought at a yard sale yesterday in it.
$225 for an oak dresser w/ big mirror, chest of drawers, 2 night stands, and a headboard/bedframe.
Good looking stuff with mortise & tenon & dovetail joints througout.

Hoping to get the Geezer-Glide out for a while this afternon.

I say we keep it. Think folks are just a little busy. Plus, lots of new folks who haven't stopped by to say hey.

My neighbor got tossed around by one of his Saler Bull this week. Broke his femur so bad they are going to put plates around it. Lucky to be alive. Bull got him down and jumped him 3 times before being driven off. Guy was alone, so good thing he has a good head on his shoulders. Splinted his leg and crawled to the truck.

You folks with stock, be careful. Remember, if it has hair and more legs than you do, it Will hurt you someday.

Doing his pasture clipping for him since then, with more hay to follow. Ya'll come on down, got plenty to do.

Ed

If this thread had something more interesting to discuss like George Foreman Grills, it might get 4-5 pages the first day.

Well I have cleaned up my apartment and organized everything so I can go over to the ex girfriend's house and pick up my stuff in her garage. She broke it off out of the blue on Friday. Things were going really well and then she decided she didn't want anything to do with my daughters. We are a package deal and no woman will ever get
chosen over my girls so away I go. I don't even really feel that bad about it because I don't want a girl who doesn't want my kids, end of story. I will spend the rest of the day getting everything put away and then go get my corvair convertable out of her driveway. I guess I will have more time to work on that and my CTD!

Yep ... we gotta keep the Water Cooler. It is the only gossip that I can stomach .

Finally got a house over here. Been living out of a hotel for the past 40 + days.
It's way more space than I need and much fancier than I am accustomed to but I will get over it. I get my household goods delivered today and wish I had a movie camera because it is gonna be fun watching the movers attempt to get a wardrobe closet up a set of spiral stairs .

Sherod, your "more hair on the legs than I have" theory ... does it pertain to European women, too ??? Got a few Yeti's running around in high heels over here.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Ahhhhh........ Monday morning sitting at my desk.
Finally I can get a break from Wifey's 'Honey-Do' list and relax.

Hopefully not too much on the 'Gotta-Do' list here.

Warm weather has hit the swamps that y'all call Washington DC.
Temps ~70 for the ride to work, heading for the upper 80s.
Humididididididity is baaaaack.
Oh well, at least I don't have to shovel humidity.
But I GOTTA get my A/C fixed soon.

PW, it would be worth borrowing a video camera to catch the looks on the mover's faces when they see that spiral staircase.

Been on duty all night, had the great CQ 24 HRS of fun and enjoyment. Had a knuckle-head PVT bust his head open last night and had to take him to the ER for a 3 staples in the head. I told him I would stich it up with some floss and a rusty needle but he declined(LOL). Did get my laundry done tonight so it wasn't a total waste of time. Good thing the XO has a coffee pot in his office. (Best Homer voice" MMMM COFFFEEEE!!!!")

Next time one of 'em does something like that, pull one of these out of your desk drawer and tell them to sit down.

Mornin' all. Runnin' late today. Wife out of town and I can't sleep. Fell asleep on the couch at midnight last night watching TV and a stupid thunderstorm woke me up at 2:30 Got up, went to bed, shut the alarm off and just got up when I felt like it.
Had a good time in Waco yesterday, met a lot of folks and saw a lot of nice trucks. I think rjohnson sold more than 1 person on a full DTT setup yesterday, he should get a cut.
Diet has gone to crap with the wife gone, Shinerbock, BBQ and Taco Bell have been my staples. Need to fix that (probably just drop the Taco Bell for a while).

Gotta go,
~Rob

I'm noticing its quiet on the web everywhere you go... I think it's because everyone is getting out and enjoying the great outdoors now....

Some of us will be back soon because there is a new clank or failed part. No matter what you know they will come back... Nothing last forever....

So enjoy the quiet and peace for the moment... Don't worry be happy!

Oh yeah keep "The Cooler" going...

I have all those Grills. . When one grills a cow, a few chickens and a pig, one needs a lot o' grills.

Mr. Shovelhead...thats the stapler they used on me last time I was at the ER. Is there a shortage of those down there? With our 'FREE' healthcare, we get the best of everything. We used to use the black staple guns.
