Depends which one. With the G60 supercharger they are running 160hp and with the VR6 174hp. Not that fast either way. Are you going to race one?

You'll win. Crank up that Smarty and let er rip. I use to race my buddy all the time, he had a G60 and I had a 1.8t Jetta. Not as fast as they look.

Depending on whether the Corrado is stock or not...

We have some wicked ones over here- 4WD and 500hp in a rather lightweight car... If it's still FWD and close to stock you have some chance with the 2002. (Don't go for a top speed challenge... with the Euro tune on a stock G60 it would do about 145mph top speed. )

I had one and I had worked done to it. Yes, all depends if its stock or not. Usually a very audible exhaust note will give it away. That usually goes hand in hand with mods on a VW. Mine was a supercharged 1.8 version. After all the work was done on it, I could run with a mildly modified mustang 5.0. Off the line, they are not much to brag about but when you are on the highway and then get on it. It pulls real hard. I had it on a flat out run...open highway. I hit 140 MPH and it had a little more in it. I loved that car. I crashed it, total loss.
