If you ever look at the tail of an aircraft the flag always has the stars moving forward. In the Air Force on our flight suits we wear the Flag on our left sleeve and unit patch on the right. If the flag is hanging on a wall stars go to the left side. The only time you should see the Stars to the right is when it is laid on top of a coffin so the the deceased see the Stars to their left.

This is an amazing conversation about the direction of a flag. Fortunately for many other countries the direction of the flag does not matter. As they fly true and faultlessly in any direction. No disrespect just an observation.

I had to pull over Saturday and knock on some fellas door. He had two flags on his flag pole, a Pittsburgh Steelers flag and Ol Glory. Steelers on top! I told him that I appreciate him flying the American flag and thanked him for patriotism. Then told him that I was positive the men and women who have died for this country rate the highest point on that pole more than his football team does. He apologized and I helped him fix it.

Probably a good thing for his health that he took it as well as he did .... having a Marine's "undivided attention" to your action is NOT the most pleasant place to be !!
Good on ya, brother !!

We had to stop by some lawyers office this weekend after my wife noticed that their US flag was lying on the ground. The poor thing had been flying so long that it wore out the lanyard. It was past time to retire the flag anyway ... looking pretty rough.
Had my 13 year old help me .... great time for a lesson in flag ettiquette.
