Ultimate Fighting Challenge

Last night on PPV we watched the Ultimate Fighting Challenge, the only fight I wanted to see was Matt Hughes vs Royce Gracie. Matt whooped his you know what in the 1st round. You ought to of seen Gracies face after that one. Thought I would share with you guys.Cin :D

Clayten May 28, 2006 11:50 AM

Seen that to. Thought it might last a little longer. Gracie was behind right from the start.
Well maybe now UFC can get back to having fights with the guys that are rightfully in line to have a title fight with Hughes.

Hmmm

i only heard about that fight, apparently gracie had his arm in a bar, but hughes didnt give up, then hughes just turned it around on him. I dont know, but i think since gracie had been out of it so long and enjoyin his celebrity status, he just plain went in not knowing what to expect, and got his butt handed to him... I dont know, i wanna see the fight tho

arent shamrock and ortiz gonna fight after ultimate fighter 3? if so ortiz will own!
EDIT! just found out on ufc.tv that on july 8th will be the arlovski/silvia rematch for the heavyweight title! arlovski is good but its hard to take down a guy who's 6'8 [eyecrazy]

Dodgezilla May 28, 2006 01:38 PM

Gracie was awesome in his day. A small guy taking on guys like Kimo and Ken Shamrock, and winning. It wasn't pretty but winning is all that matters... I didn't see it but it will be on Spike TV soon. Matt Hughs is the man!!!!
UFC kicks butt!!!!!

CIN'S DODGE May 28, 2006 02:30 PM

It was great! Personally I believe Arlovski is gonna take Silvia.I think Ortiz is gonna take Shamrock.

Dodgezilla May 28, 2006 03:27 PM

Shamrock was great in his day too but these young guys are too tough. Tito is gonna take him...
What ever happened to Phil Baroni? He was the New York Badxxx and actually was an awesome fighter. I haven't seen him on TV in a long time... I could watch that stuff all day long......

I agree

i have downloaded some of the fights and watched them, and i think Silvia Arlovksi two was just luck outta silvia

Ken shamrock cannot get his team to win on TUFIII, there is no way he is gonna beat Ortiz, Ortiz has him physically and mentally...

now if we are gonna go back to pickin favorite fights on the UFC, i think that anything with Vitor Belfort was worth watching.. Baus Routen is another one but he is on pride fighting alot more.. My bro is a huge MMA fan, so i can say i like that stuff too..

I was realy hoping Gracie would choke the life out of Hughes. I knew if that happened it would be like finding a needle in a hay stack though, but I still hoped. [eyecrazy]

Can't wait to see Silvia knock those fake k'9s out of Arlovskis' mouth.

On the Shamrock vs Ortiz fight i'm laying my money down on Ken, I think he'll bring his game, he has something to prove & I never was a fan of Ortiz.

Let me start by saying "Matt Hughes IS the man!" Just a good ol boy from the farm who trains hard, stays focused, and comes to fight....every time. I will gladly give Gracie all the credit he is due for holding his own over the years with much larger competitors... that guy has no quit in him, but, with that said. who wants to watch a "fight" where two guys hug on each other round after round until one chokes the other out? Good job to Matt. We paid to see a fight and he always delivers. That guy is working his way to the Hall of Fame. As for Shamrock and Ortiz; I have all the respect for Shamrock. He was the Man in his day but he is just too old and washed up to fight Ortiz. His only hope is that Ortiz will take him too lightly and not train or perform to his full potential. Hell, if we're gonna bring back the old guys then lets bring back Dan Severn....oh, and leave the gloves at home...Anyway, thats my rant... [director]

Didn't these older guys learn anything from the Tank Abbot return???? [whistle] He was fearsome when the UFC first started but his last couple of fights ended very quickly because he just wanted to brawl and the other guys fought a smart fight. I agree about not wanting to watch two guys wrestle for 5 minutes but you have to give credit to how smart those guys are as they wait for their opponent to make one wrong move and leave themselves open for an armbar or chokeout....

BillE-Goat May 29, 2006 11:00 AM

I agree. todays fighters use more technique/skills and fight smarter fights but the brawls from the first years of the UFC were a blast to watch.

CIN'S DODGE May 29, 2006 11:38 AM

There are alot more skills and techniques these days. I do take take my hat off to the older fighters don't get me wrong. Arlovski is gonna take Silvia down.Ortiz isn't gonna let his guard down, he's gonna whoop some Shamrock boody :)

derek840378 May 29, 2006 11:43 AM

anyone ever see the video of abbot bench press 600 lbs?

Silvia is an animal. I would run from him shreeking like a school girl. :o Due just lumbers in a clobbers people. His stance is awesome, reach and leg work are just amazing to watch.

On the Gracie tip. I used to work with two guys that trained at thier Gym. To hear them talk, the man couldn't be beat? ;)
