Transmission conversations
Oops my bad is it because the spine pattern from the transmission, of a Cummins greater or different gear ratios cuz I know on my transfer case is a 272 ratio would there be any way to get a heavy duty transmission and t-case from a 2500 Cummins bolt up
I am not exactly sure what you are asking.
If you have a 360 gasser, you already have a 46RE trans, which for almost all purposes is exactly the same trans as the 47RE. The 47RE has a different bolt pattern on the bellhousing, which means it physically won't bolt up to your engine.
All of that is irrelevant though, as you can build your trans to the same power level as we can.
Even if it did bolt up, the trans is set up for low RPM operation, you would want to find one from a V10.
Re-reading your OP, is it you want to convert your truck to a Cummins engine? If so, then yea, the whole driveline is going to suffer, the front 44 is only going to live marginally longer than the 9-1/4" rear end.
