I don't care about personality......Just talent.....no denieing he is talented......Dale was one of the most dirty drivers I've seen, but I still enjoyed watching him race......just look at how he spun out Terry Labonte.....and he hated it.....yea right......but he was a winner.

Tony is right about all the BS cautions you notice how nascar put the muzzle and the 10k fine on him as soon as he got to the track! About half of gordons wins have been given to him at the expense of others. Today was just another example they knew the leaders were about out of fuel and extending the race would play into gordons hand .I was glad to see johnson did not let him win a few weeks ago. The way todays race ended was crap they fooled around getting it restated long enough untill the guys that had been saving fuel + running up front could no longer make it . Then we wait to throw the caution untill gordon makes the pass the wreck started before he was out front !

What's so impressive about beating a dead man ? If Earnhardt was still racing he'd be way ahead of Gordon .

Yea yea, you mean you think he would be winning. Quite living in the maybe and live in the now. Earnhart had had his own troubles toward the end of his carear. Show Gordon the respect Earnhart did.

Sorry, Ill show Wonderboy that level of respect when he earns it.

Earnhardt raced hurt and performed, Gordon hasn't had his bell rung yet, much less raced with broken bones.

Perhaps it is just a different generations view, but I get just as much entertainment watching IROC these days........

So multiple championships and 77 wins haven't earned him respect as a driver? Actually I grew up watching Petty(Ricard), Yarbrough, Allisons, Pearson, Parson, and Baker. That was racing.

Thats exactly the kind of racing I want.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh on wonderboy.

As a car handler, I respect him, as a racer, I do not.

Lets see him when the chips are down.........

Benny was a good guy, the trucks are better than the Bucsh or Cup series.

I hated him for the longest time....still haven't forgiven him for dumping Rusty at Bristol instead of racing him clean. Then he cries like a baby when Kenseth does the same thing to him.....

Having said that, I'm starting to lighten up on him a little as he gets more grey hair.....I've decided to direct my ill will toward Jimmy "Unibrow" Johnson instead. I thought the Junior bandwagon fans were bad.....the Jimmy fans are even worse.

I'd love to see Reckless Robby take out the 24, the 48, the 2 and the 12 all in one fell swoop.....that'd be a good race.

PS, I agree Tony is a racers' racer.....kinda like Jimmy Spencer but fast. I miss Jimmy....he was the comic relief in Cup.

One other thing about Sr. There is no doubt in my mind he would be winning, the troubles he had were the result of the brain stem injury he had. His driving improved considerably just before he died.

I still think they did not reveal the true extent of the surgery that he had done at the close of the 2000 season, and that may well be why he died in that hit.

Still, a racer would have raced, as he did.
