For those with an XBOX 360.... You'll know what this means
Well, considering you could get a very decent 720p 50" Plasma for $1500... I'd go for it.

Now, about the XBOX, what did you have to do to it to fix it. All the secretive talk between you and Digital Hollowpoint has me curious.

Darn Britt, maybe we should charge $5 a pop for the info...
O.K. - Here is how to fix your Xbox 360 with the "Three Red Lights Of Death"
Step 1. Unhook your 360 from the TV and unplug the connection in the back.
Step 2. Unplug the power supply and the connection in the back.
Step 3. Grab a THICK towel.
Step 4. Wrap the 360 tightly in the towel.
Step 5. Plug the 360 back in.
Step 6. On a level surface such as a table, place the 360 horizontally and turn it on.
Step 7. Leave it run for approx. an hour. (Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't shut down - building lots of heat is VERY important)
Step 8. After an hour, unwrap the 360 and turn it off.
Step 9. Turn it back on after 5 minutes have passed.
Step 10. Enjoy your better than new 360!
How it works:
The Xbox 360 was manufactured using poor solder joints that crack after expanding and contracting.
On the PCB, you can clearly see that solder was used very sparingly and almost all of the processor legs are exposed.
What you are doing with the towel is heating it to loosen the solder and melt it in the pre-drilled holes on the PCB.
The 5 minutes lets it cool down and harden in the new location.
This covers the legs of the processor and other EPROMS...

That is an awesome fix! I asked Digital about it the other day and he was nice enough to share the info with me.....so I printed it out and put it with my games just in case it ever happens to me. That'll sure save me a lot of headache.........you da man Digital!!

That is very interesting, Digital. When (not "if") this one goes bad I'll certainly give that a try!
As for the plasma versus LCD debate, I own a 37'' Westinghouse LCD. Maybe it has changed, but when I bought mine a couple years ago LCD was the far superior choice. The LCD was less prone to brun-in and the life expectancy on the unit was at least double that of the plasma. One thing that plasma did have on it was slightly more vibrant colors and a cheaper price tag.

There is no 720i, it has to be 720p...
And since the 1080i unit costs more, I'm guessing its 1080p as well...
For $1500, you can get a 50" Plasma that will blow the projector out of the water.

One nice thing about any of the new HDTV's that you buy is they can be used as computer monitors. Here is my 55" computer monitor:

I just use a wireless keyboard and mouse with a range of 20'
On a side note. I do plan on getting a projector. I plan on using it outside in my back yard in the fall for collage football and block parties. After dark of course. A 10’ screen on the back of my house would be just about right. Luckily enough, we have a great neighborhood and we all get together often.

P.S. Digital Bullet is a God. (he said I had to say that.... mutiple times)

It is a great monitor but IMO it doesn't come close to our Plasma:

Pictures don't really do either one of them justice though.
