Telling diff between cast aluminum and pot metal

I'm scrapping a bunch of old Johnson outboard boat engines. There are some parts of the cowling and such that I can't tell if they are cast aluminum or pot metal. Is there a quick, easy way to tell which one they are?

Thanks,
Kevin
