Re:TDR Subscription

Chuck, Chuck, Chuck. Oh ye of little faith. Hey, it's guys like you that way back when, got me hooked on this site. It's guys like you that kept me coming back. Come to think of it, it's all your fault. > Now, you, of all people, wavering on the sidelines. Lets see, who lives in your neighborhood that I can persuade to "visit you and have a heart to heart talk"? You have a greater influence that perhaps you realize. Quit being a slacker and join us in singing "We are Family".... sorry, that's even too much for me.... You know what I mean...

~Dave

OK, GONZO, it's gang up on Chuck 3 time. This waffling within the ranks is not to be tolerated.

Any site as it grows is going to have its share of people who cause problems. I don't feel Rob has caused problems on the site, I just didn't like his comment too much so I want to make sure everyone knows I'm not including him in that group. However, I think that we've managed that growth very well so far, and I know that you've been one of those who brought people here. You should know that we appreciate that very much and would like you to continue being an active member on the site.

The future looks bright here, and we'll manage our growth well because we have a great group of moderators here who care very much about the content and the family atmosphere that we've all created. Again, remember that you've been a very large part of that. That said, there will be threads here that will get downright nasty. We've already seen it, but I truely believe that we've managed that very well and nipped it in the bud quickly and swiftly when it occurs. We'll never completely get rid of that stuff, as it's part of any site. However, members here know very well what they can and cannot do. They also know that if they participate in a flame war with insults flying, it'll stop quickly, and their membership will be in jeopardy. Hang in there my friend.

Jack

Re:TDR Subscription

What about those sheep and penguins?
Those things are just plain childish and non-informative.

SHEESH next thing ya know someone will be on here gloating about a George Foreman Grill. :

I think its amazing how there is humor and facts and knowledge all in one site.

Anyone know what the first choice for the capitol of Saskatchewan was?

There is a time limit on this...tick tick tick

Re:TDR Subscription

These are the kind of things I'm refering to.......reread this entire thread.

The guy asked about the TDR, but in order to find an answer, you'll need to stiff through all the babbling and nonsence. More than not, that is the way the threads go here, it's like a general chat room, with a hidden answer amungst the bull.

You can call me names if you like, I'm not offended, at all.

I do take the time to answer the questions here, and yes, even the repeated ones, over and over. I get alot of PM's from here, asking advice, or my opinion, gee, I wonder why?

The point is this, the threads get so carried away with bla, bla, it's hard to find anything useful. Also, there is quite a lump of misinformation/quesses on the fourms here, whats a guy who wants to learn supposed to do with that?

I'm not on here to put down the site, you guys do that on your own with all the BS. If this is indeed a chat-room, then just say it, but the name says "Resource", maybe try and be one. Just my observation.

Later, Rob

I see it on the TDR too.
:-*
Re:TDR Subscription

Ok Rob, fair enough. That's your opinion and that's fine. Mine differs from yours, as do many other users here, and that's ok too. Pick your poison and enjoy whatever site you like. Just don't come here insulting my users' knowledge level as a great many of them are very knowledgable. We also get a lot of people who just bought their first truck, and don't know many of the things the rest of us do. For those who are in that situation, you'll see many repeat questions and many simple questions. That's because they've never seen the info yet! I for one don't mind the repeated questions from the new people because that means they're trying to learn! Once they know the ropes, they'll know how to search, check the FAQ and otherwise find the info they need. That's the whole purpose of the site, to answer questions. I'll never understand why people get upset at others trying to learn, especially those who are new to the site, or don't know much about how they operate. We're here to help them, not chastize them.
