I know it won't help in your case now....

but maybe for future reference.........

We had a case here in Dallas where a lady was carjacked at gun point and her purse (including cell phone) was left in her vehicle. She had just had a "tracking" program put on her family cell phones the week prior so she could keep up with her daughter and her husband. All she had to do was take the police (me) to her home and log on to her computer and it showed her (and the police) where her phone was at that moment in time. The police tracked it down within minutes. The susp saw the police and gave chase but was caught a few minutes later in her vehicle. Vehicle, purse, and phone were recovered. Perp went to prison.

Idiot stole her (Dodge Ram by the way) so he could steal her tailgate off it, if you can believe that! The tailgate and his weapon were recovered at his residence. He had never been arrested prior to that.

I agree with the credit card thing. By the size of the family (ha ha ha ) and the time on the video, should be an easy credit card transaction to pull up if they used one.

Unfortunately they paid with cash. 20 bucks was their total bill.
The manager has been more than helpful in this situation. Too bad they didn't have a camera on the lot.
My daughter has checked the surrounding businesses to see if they had surveillance that would have gotten a shot of that lot......No Luck!!

I'll tell ya what...Your daughter should be a cop :-) You guys are doing more than the cops ever did for me when my car was stolen with my pager in it. When I would call my pager, the guy would call back. I asked the cops to page him and then trace the number. They told me they could not do that. Fn lzy bstds.

She's a psychology major. I told her she should try to get on with the FBI or CIA.

Great idea by posting it on you tube!...
Have you tried contacting a local news station? The news stations out here have help hot lines you can call when you get get ripped off. They try to help individuals who've been duped by scammers, or people that have been ripped off by local businesses...
Or what about a local cable access channel? Run the vid on there a few hundred times its bound to get someone's attention.

Good Luck!! I truly hope your daughter gets everything back! I HATE THIEVES!!!

sorry for the theft that stinks, too bad they did not pay credit. . . . and the lack of cameras maybe the store can blow up a photo and keep it in the back, just in case the folks show again.

i had my house robbed a couple months back, bye bye fire arms and the cops could care less ( in my situation) don't take offense Robert.

i used to be involved in this kind of activity when i was younger, and i am glad i have changed my life, Karma is a BIA.

No offense taken Max. Everybody has a lazy, no good, or overzealous, cop story. Me included. There are bad apples as LEO, as in every profession. For some reason those stories stick in the minds of people alot more than the story I relayed in post #16. Those are soon forgotten...

I posted a copy of the story and a link to the YouTube video on another forum I'm on. If any good leads come from it, I'll let you know.

As was mentioned over on that board, if that family is local, it's probably a good bet they'll be back in there again to eat. Hopefully the store has their picture posted. That woman probably has no idea she has a section of the internet community looking for her.

Which Taco Villa in Lubbock was it? Not sure if there are multiple, but I'm guessing there are since a few people on the other board were asking.

Thanks for posting on the other board.
The manager of the store said he'd put a copy of their picture up so the employees can see it. He said they've been instructed to serve them and call the police when they come back in.
The Taco Villa is on 19th street near Ave V.

Any chance there is a local news station in Lubbock looking to do a piece on declining family values or parents teaching their kids to steal?

If you can get this on the local news, might help flush them out. Now sure if they still have the Crimestoppers reports there, but that might be an option for the video as well. Anything to get it in front of more people.
