Springfield MO.
I was just wondering who is around the area because I have a project going at the Sheraton Hotel in Springfield. Looking for someone to show me the area and maybe some HELP. Talk with ya all soon Thanks Todd
Used to work there ... I have a farm about an hour from there, but I am currently on the opposite side of the world.
What'cha doing at the Sheraton ??
As for the area ... lot's of neat things to see and do. Good food in the area (Springfield is the home of Cashew Chicken ...mmmmmm good stuff.) You can't miss eating at Lamberts in Ozark (15 minutes away) ... Home of the Throwed Roll (heads up !!)
South end of Springfield on Glenstone Ave. is the best part of town IMHO. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, the mall, restaurant row, motels etc ...
Branson is close as are some of the best bass fishing in the area. Oh .... and don't forget Bass Pro Shop Headquarters and nature museum !!!

I'm about three 1/2 hours away from there, Bass Pro Shops is a "must -see"..
as is the western bar on 61 at the east side of town , ya can get drunk and try your hand at riding a bull....a real one that is...( unless that place got shut down since last summer)
There is a little town called Cabool about an hour east on 61 HWY that is a Amish community, best food anywhere! Watch out for the horse-drawn vehicles crossing the highway..
As per PW, great fishing at either Bull Shoals( about 45 minutes south) or Truman Resivour( about an hour north).
Its a real pretty area in the fall, lots of color.
You are about an hour and a half from Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Oklahoma, good fishing there too, and if its warm, try one of the river float trips at any of the rivers south or east of you.
The Jacks Fork River at Owls Bend is my favorite.. it'll be about a 90 minute drive from Springfeild.
Or drive up 71 to KC/Harrisonville for some realy great BBQ...

I work here in Springfield but live 32 miles east of here in the National Forest. If there is anything I can help you with let me know. The Wife and I are taking off tomorrow to attend the Festival of Craftsmen and music at Silver Dollar City in Branson and this year they are doing a salute to the American Cowboy. Some of the old Western movies actors will be there as well as other western/cowboy entertainment.
