Speeding?
Got pulled over for 82 in 80 today. He was very polite but did mention looking for Silver CTD's. Just be aware. Between El Paso and Sierra Blanca. Boader Patrol also looked over my truck very thoroughly......Looked under the truck and knocked on all the body panels.
Warning.....is had to just be an excuse to check me out......he even made me get out and stand behind my truck while he checked on my papers.....he made sure I knew the address on my license, and an unmarked car pulled in front of me to block me.
The CTDs have always been the truck of choice for running illegals and drugs acros the desert from Mexico. My Brother lost his truck to them.By the time it was recovered it looked like had done a few Baja 1000's

NM has 80mph speed zones now??? Lived there for 8 yrs and the freeways were all 75.
Regardless, had a similar situation this winter in NE and IA this winter. We were driving back to WI, for of all things, my mom's funeral.
I got pulled over in Omaha for not signaling a lane change. The cop had me get out of the truck and into his car. Checked all the paperwork. Gave me 20 questions about where we were headed, from, where we spent last night, how old are your kids, etc. Then left me int he car and went to talk to my wife! Let me go with a warning. Was polite at the end, but not so much at first. Followed me for a couple miles before pulling meover too.
Couple hrs later, wife gets pulled over in Des Moines for 67 in a 65. Same deal. Takes her to the squad car, 20 questions. Comes back to the truck, questions me. Gives me some crap about our son not looking old enough to be in a booster seat, etc. Let's her go with a written warning for speeding. ANd he wasn't nice in the least...very condescending.
Had to be a APB out on a black Dodge with CO tags and a camper shell or something. Still cost over an hour on our trip and had to do the frickin speed limit all thru IA for fear of getting "profiled" again! (No 80 mph speed limits back there...it's "65 saves lives"....)

I don't know about the speed limit on IH-10 in New Mexico, but in west Texas, it is 80 mph! Been that way for a few years now. This stretch of road is very lightly traveled so I guess that's why it was raised.
I can't believe anyone on DTR had a 94 that topped out at 77 mph. You were a plate grind away from a lot more top end that!
Well, I bought it with 100k on it, and it still redlined at 3k, she "just wont do it captain - she ain't got the power".
Nothing like getting over into the right lane, and putting your hazard lights on along with the loaded dump trucks just to pull a slight grade. It was horrible to say the least. I think the 160hp rating was if I got out and helped push it with my riding lawnmower. Sh got excellent fuel mileage then too. Went from Central NJ to Youngstown Ohio (up and down the hills of I-80 no less), drove around the weekend, and made it 1/3 of the way back before it needed fuel. Those days are loooong gone.
