Some days your the hydrant.

Visiting my Mom in Ft Worth, TX and while I am here changing her timing chain on her 95 240sx. Not really a hard job, just time consuming without my full toolbox. That is till the crankshaft pulley breaks coming off. Now its Saturday on Labor Day weekend and I am hoping the pulley I just ordered from some guy on eBay gets here by Tuesday so I can get it on and get home the next day when I am supposed to. Had to go through eBay due to it being after closing for most local places and all.

Well, on the bright side I can take my time with the rest of the job...

Ahh...looks as though Mr Murphy decided to join you in your project[yuk]

He has a bad habit of sneaking up on the easy stuff and nailing you when you don't see it coming.

Yep, I've been there. Some days everything goes perfectly, other days it seems like everything I touch turns to dog crap. :(

well if laughter makes ya feel any better.. I was just movin around some stuff on my desk, had been putting together my new feeder for deer, withthe varmint guard........... well, I guess I touched the wires, dam near knocked over the desk, dropped the feeder on my toe, said a few choice words. on the up side, I can not wait to see the first squirell get knocked on his but when he tries to gnaw on the feeder. [roll]

Uhhh, been there and done stuff like that. 62 Merc Comet, rebuilding the engine. Thermostat housing cracks, taking it off, one of the locking bolts breaks, EZ out 1/16 inch too small, use it anyway, bolt breaks. This is at 2:00AM. I lost it. [nonono] Ended up having to pull the head and take it back to the machine shop to get the bolt out. Job did not go as well as I had hoped.

Looks like the repair manual is incomplete as well. Didnt mention having to drop the oil pan completely to get the oil pick up unbolted from the back side of the lower timing cover. Sadly I have to scrap this job and put back everything else. Murphy is my closest friend right now it seams. This weekend I am certainly the hydrant.

To make you laugh.

A guy I know was moving merrily along with a baler, baling. Well it clogs up so get get under it to pull some hay loose. Well this is near a "subdivision" that has 5 acres lots. He sees this woman walking her little dog down the gravel road (glorified driveway). As he is under there, all of a sudden, he feels this warm spot on the side of his shirt. He looks and all he sees is this arse end of a dog, with its leg lifted up! He yells at it and tried to get up only to hit his head on the edge of the baler. Said MANY choice words at the dog and the lady for not keeping track of her dog. This guy told her to get a leash and she said she doesn't want one for her dog as it is "restrictive". Suburbanites own these home but do not realize that though there are tons of room, they just can't let their animals be "free".

Not nearly as bad, but can't get anything done on Labor day w/ the stores closed.
Went to "pickle" my boat for the winter yesterday. Napa's closed, and Autozone doesn't have any oil filter that fits except Fram (it's a small block Chevy motor for Pete's sake and they're out of AC filters). So I buy one anyway, figure I can replace it later.
Get ready to suck the oil out and the little drill motor pump I have quits working after about 2 qts pulled out. Dump the oil back in an figure I'll stabilize the fuel. Pump out the excess fuel (w/ fuel pump on the boat), go to get the Stabil and realize it's out of date. Has cr@p floating in the bottle.
Oh well, cleaned up the boat, stuck it in the garage and played w/ the kids all afternoon.
