Solar highways

Future roads will be made of glass with solar panels. Great idea if it will work.

By the time everyone gets done poking their fingers in the pie, it will only cost more than it's worth. I have faith in human nature.

They have a hard time around here with potholes in the roads. Just think what would happen if they had more than asphalt to work with and how many more guys it would take.
Usually around here there is one guy working with 3-5 guys standing around, with more than 6 there has to be a "pointer guy", you know a guy that stands around an points to things around him. Electric roads would require at least (3) pointer guys.

Just think of all of the copper wire to steal and cash in on, I cant wait, They will steal copper out of anything around here, had a 100hp vertical electric motor, got to work and no water, found a dead thief next to motor, guessing motor tried to start while he was in there and got hisself shocked!! Now if we had copper wire under the roads, whose fault is it when they get run over. Might be time to start practicing law.

not sure I would want to drive on glass int he rain, let alone in ice and snow.

To bad those 'great' minds cant think of a way to pay for all this glorious futuristic crap without 'public' money i.e taxes, regulation, and fees.

The glass would be shot in a week and the panels wouldn't work, or drastically loose efficiency.

Think about how may pointers would be needed then!

My plan would be to cover the highway with the solar panels. Think about it. No snowy roads. The roads would last longer. . . Completely enclose the roadway like a tunnel. No fumes to vent, lower heat. Get pretty slow going at night though

That's good for one less pointer.

Man those wouldent last a week around here. Between the farmers and snow plows they would be destroyed in a blink of an eye.
