Fronty don't be upset you have to go to Texas to buy real beer. Everytime I would go to OK I had to guard my cooler from the okie's who could only buy 2.0 beer!

I like all the Shiner beers. Bock is my favorite then Blonde, Hef and 97. Shiner SmokeHaus is great with some brisket. Just wish it was cheaper!

and that is why we have a tradition called a boarder run.. just gotta buy enough so you can have some when you make it back home.

That's gonna help get me into the
"holiday mood" for the season !!

SUCCESS !!!!

I finally stopped by the local beverage store and picked up a 12 pack of Shiner Holiday Cheer !!

Bavarian style dark wheat beer brewed with peaches and pecans ... good stuff.

I didn't even give it a chance to get good & cold before popping one open ....

Yep!, they brew it specifically to compete with SHINER!!!
D'ya wonder why they only sell it in Texas? That's why...

Down here you can tell if the establishment is an A-B products only place if they carry Ziegenbock... They almost never carry Shiner...

Former neighbor was dist mgr for Andrews Distributing, (they rep Shiner) He told me years ago A-B was going to counter Shiner's success with their own similar Bock beer.. It was going to be called Ziegenbock...

When I was at A & M in the 70's, it was the cheapest beer you could by. Now it is a cult favorite.
