the reason i was sugesting lp eaven though they gouge ( its only for emergancy use) so its better to get gouged a little and not have to worry about it running out of fuel>
thats still cheap compared to being with out electricity for hours and have things freez up >
Funny you mention that. I was checking some other applications out at HD, and the wiring and panel displays were gone. Probably got a new lawyer on the board. At least a few of the LP companies have at least doubled their low-use-fees, so you're paying for it to just sit there. At $3.00+ a pound last year, they weren't making enuff money, especially from peopple supplementing with wood.

I'm leaning towards the Honeywell, but waiting to find out what kind of a deal my brother can get on the Generec. The Honeywell is $100 cheaper with slightly better h.p. and amps, and 3 yr warranty, but smaller fuel tank. Generec has a 2 yr warranty, better than many, and little longer run time with the larger tank.

I'm also hinkey about fuel sitting and getting stagnant or polluted. I'd love a diesel and could easily set up a 250 gal. fuel oil tank. But I want the portability too. In most cases, I would be able to be at home or within a few hours of getting home to fire it up or refill it.

The diesel we have sitting on the front of the Escape Trailer has a 6 gallon tank and it'll run about 16 hours at full load before it gets to 'E'.

Well, the generator sits on the tongue of the trailer and inside with it running you can feel a vibration but not really hear it. It's in an enclosure that muffles about 80% of the noise.

Thanks Blake. Glad you had a good day too. That's what it's all about!

We haven't heard from Eric or Rick today. Rick's on the road I think, but I thought Eric would pop in. I miss my sparring buddy! Maybe his wife doesn't need to be induced anymore and I'm an uncle!

I can barely hear my Onan 6500w inside the fiver when running. It is LP. It is absolutely the least problem genny I have owned. The diesel is the least expensive to run - - if you run it - - regularly. If you don't, it is like the gas - - problems. Had them all and the propane is definitely the least problems. But, as stated, it costs more to run it. So, if it is a backup and only running when you have a problem or, as with the fiver, only when needed which is not that often, go LP.

Friends just left, nice relaxing evening. Heading for the beddy bye - - the shoulder is killing me - - took a pill so that will put me out pretty quick here, so seeya.

Bob

Jake's all tired out after a hard day of opening his presents. Nothing like being all curled up in bed surrounded by your new prized possessions!

i would go with a 7000 or 8000 portable unit i have one and use it all the time and is great to have the abillity to put it in the back of the truck and take it where i need it. i aslo have a miller trailblazer that is diesel and it will power my grandmas doublewide and ran the air conditioning last summer. its nice to be mobile and the uses are endless.

Evening DTR, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We were at my family Christmas on thursday night and did the wife's family christmas friday. Had some deep fried turkey that was very good! Got back home around 1930 and my brother came by since he's home for a few days. Him, the wife, and I sat down and watch the movie Inglourious Basterds and BSed for a while. Going out to breakfast with a couple friends in the AM, gonna get some good steak and eggs.
