Early morning all.

Jake's going for another TV appearance today so I got to be up early to do his hair and make up!

Rise and shine boys and girls. If I gotta be up, YOU'RE gonna be up!

Today is Tuesday, December 22nd.

On this day in 1775 - A Continental naval fleet was organized in the rebellious American colonies under the command of Ezek Hopkins.

1807 - The U.S. Congress passed the Embargo Act, designed to force peace between Britain and France by cutting off all trade with Europe.

1864 - During the American Civil War, Union Gen. William T. Sherman sent a message to U.S. President Lincoln from Georgia. The message read, "I beg to present you as a Christmas gift the city of Savannah."

1894 - French army officer Alfred Dreyfus was convicted of treason in a court-martial that triggered worldwide charges of anti-Semitism. Dreyfus was eventually vindicated.

1895 - German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen made the first X-ray, of his wife's hand.

1910 - U.S. Postal savings stamps were issued for the first time. They were discontinued in 1914.

1939 - Gloria Jacobs became the first girl to hold a world pistol record when she shot 299 out of a possible 300 points. She was 17 years old at the time.

1941 - British Prime Minister Winston Churchill arrived in Washington for a wartime conference with U.S. President Roosevelt.

1961 - James Davis became the first U.S. soldier to die in Vietnam, while U.S. involvement was still limited to the provision of military advisers.

Mornin' y'all. Boy, is it ever quiet here today. Is everyone buried under a load of snow?
Been up for a couple of hours and keeping an eye on DTR and it seems like Chaikwa is the only other person to have fallen out of bed.
Nice day here, another brilliant blue, cloudless day, but oh boy, is it cold. Right now it is 41 degrees F and that has forced me to wear a sweater with my shorts and flip flops. Hopefully with the nice sun I feel, it will quickly warm up another 20 or 30 degrees.

Mornin' All! or at least stan who seems to be the only one here.

Not even a pot of coffee on the burner...... Very sad.

Well, I'll light a fire and burn a fresh pot of Santa's Special blend. See if anyone gets attracted by the scent.

Up to +2* today. Not quite the 20-30* forcasted but it ain't to bad.

Finished fixing the truck last night. Now maybe it won't lock up the rear end anymore in the cold. RR wheel locked at -25* makes it a PITA to drive. Looks like I need a cable on the driver's side as well but that will wait. As will the posi clutches, rear main, vacuum pump seal, front cover................ you know, all the fun of owning an older beast.

Got to go grocery shopping today and perhaps get a hair cut as well. We're gonna celebrate Christmas tomorrow cause I have to work and my oldest will be at her mother's house. Mama is making a ham for Christmas dinner at Grandpa's place. Got to go keep him in good spirits. This is probably gonna be a rough one for him. First one without Grandma.....

Hopefully I can shake this sinus cold soon. No fun being sick on a holiday. My youngest is also fighting it as well. 5yo little girls are so pitifully cute when they are sick. Wish I could make her feel better.....

Have a good one. I'll swing in later.

Hey Stan, sounds like you are in Sarasota. I just checked the lanai and it is 46 out there - - tad nippy. Heading for 74 today and 80 tomorry. More like it. Poor Marc up there freezing his tail off - - too cold. Love it there in the summer though.

I see the maid DID NOT PUT ON THE COFFEE THIS MORNING. So, I am doing it. Ph00, coffee, hot water with a sock in it for Claude (found a really stinky one, you old goat). Left a fresh homemade loaf of banana bread on the counter - - think it is safe - - the dragon was sleeping.

Lazy day today - - finally. Shoulder doctor tomorrow to see what he wants to do. Grrrr - - hate that.

I'm gone,

Bobby

Taco meat, refried beans (all in the same pot to lessen the amount of dirty dishes) and a bag of chips. Easy and tasty. The dogs will eat it too. Maybe even the cockatiels.....

Better one.
Small bags of Doritos, Hormel chili, shredded lettuce and shredded cheese.
Before opening the chips, chunch them up, open the bag, spoon in the chili, add the lettuce and cheese into the bag...........only thing to wash is a pot for the chili, and a spoon.
