samsung washers

just thought i would throw this out there, in case anyone has been looking at them.
I have a second floor laundry room, and the LG front loader shook the entire house.
I was hesitant to replace it, since i was convinced nobody could live up to their claims.
My wife found the new samsung on black friday for less then half the cost, so she thought that was a better option then never washing clothes again.
INstalled, i have to say, works as they claim, doesnt vibrate, no shaking, no walking.
As for the LG, its off to the base ment for alife of grease and fuel removal.

I just got the samsung set last month for my house (to be completed in Jan.). Glad to see a good review on the washer. I put my laundry room in the basement for space and vibration reasons. Maybe it will make its way up to the 2nd floor when I do my addition. I got both of mine with a 5 year warranty for the price of one because of overstock.

good to hear some positive reviews on the samsung. we had the lg picked out until we saw the samsung - then we couldn't decide between the two.

samsung it is now . . . as the pair will be on the main floor, but very close to the foundation

We looked at the Samsung, but went with the Whirlpool Duet. Our neighbors got the Samsung. We plan on tracking each others breakdowns, etc as the years go by.

Lowes has most of the Samsungs in stock, but the higher end models sometimes need to be ordered. I like them.

Please consider the Best Buy post I made a few weeks ago when figuring out who to buy from.

We're looking for a new washer and dryer right now. Anyone have any other suggestions other than a sansung? Their a little pricey for us. Looking to spend around 1000-1200 for the pair. Don't care if they are top load, front load or back load, just want something that will do a good job and not cost an arm and a leg. Don't much care if it has 100 wash cycles or all the other bells and whistles.
Thanks
Jay

My folks had a set of Samsung bought around 2007, early 08. Front load units and they cost over 1000 a piece. The dryer worked flawless but the washer gave trouble from week one. It would not spin the clothes to ring them out. Well, it would spin them when it wanted. Samsung sent authorized reps many many times to work on it and bunch of parts were replaced. Nothing seems to fix the problem.

Samsung owned up to the defect and gave a full refund for the washer and dryer both so that another matched pair could be purchased. There customer support was outstanding. All they wanted was the serial number tag pulled off the units and the powercord cut and mailed to them. We did, put the washer and dryer in the second kitchen and rewired the power. It still just spins when it wants... Who knows.

Pull-Ya, you might look at the top load, high efficiency for a combo of low water usage and price.

If you are looking for cheap, go to the back of Lowe's, they have a discount appliance isle of repaired or dent and bent stuff. If they sell it, it still comes with the warranty.

If you want to, I can put you in touch with one of the most knowledgeable guys I've ever met with appliances.
